Default 51 foot Foutain?

What's up with this 51 foot Fountain? Is this one special or did they make more or even offer this model?

thats a 47 with the extra extended beak option

actually it looks like a one off 47 that is lengthened to hold the Buzzi drive system. nice setup. wonder how it performs.

I think there were more than one. I seen two for sale at the same time a year or so ago.

I am pretty sure that they only made two. It has been for sale for a while.

Dreaminbig,
I higly recommend you dont buy this boat.
The Fountain/Buzzi boats, apart from the ribs, were dogs to say the least!!!
Mark Wilson took the 42 version, Reggie hated it , and ripped the extension off , It weighed 1100 lbs.
It completely screwed the boat up, also on the 47, ( extension makes it 51)

Trimax is a fantastic drive system but the transom needs to be configured specially for that drive system. The best option is to design the entire boat around the system which will ensure that the advantages of Trimax are maximized and that the boat stays balanced. Trimax is definitely not a good afterthought. And yet, this is exactly what this Fountain is. It's a 47 with a Trimax stern section added. Had they properly integrated the stern section and kept the length at 47, it would probably have been a better boat. But even with that effort, a Fountain is a boat initially designed for outdrives and putting Trimax and making it work requires major changes to the hull design, especially on a stepped bottom. Try putting #6s on a 60' sportfisher. It ain't gonna work either...

A friend here in the Clearwater area had one of the two for a short time.

His boat had triple 600Hp naturals for power. The boat would touch 90 on a good day (86-88 normally) but since the surface drive are fixed and un trimmable, it took a very long time to plane.

In fact, it took so much trim tab to plane that the mounting bolts for the tabs started to pull through the transom.
