UPDATE
I recently got off the phone with Kristen , Shane is stable and breathing on his own.
He is alert and coherent. He was sitting up in a chair asking Kristen if he was on the correct snowmobile trail on the lake and what time the circus starts. 
He also wanted a glass of Pepsi and told his sister ( who was not there) to stop being cheap and fill the glass. 
LOL It seem that the meds. have taken effect.
This all seems funny but it is great to hear. When he was asked a serious question he could answer it with out hesitation and correctly.
It seem that he is on the correct path to a speedy recovery.

I'm in shock, I was hoping to see Shane last weekend at the Lake George run, but I couldn't make it. I met Shane at the Pirates Run on Seneca Lake. Great guy, I only wish him the best. Doug

I don't know the guy, but there are some members to whom you give more 'credence' than others ( you know how it is ). Shane is one of those; he always made a positive, insightful contribution to this forum.
Anyway, take it easy on the nurses. . . they get hit on ALL the time.
Focus on the rehab. . . good luck, and God bless. You'll be JUST FINE.

Sounds like very good prognosis. Definately through the most dangerous part. Thoughts and prayers for a full recovery.
