Marine XM Radio

I searched the forum, but found no mention of a marine XM radio.

It will be exposed to the elements, so I'm a little hesitant to buy a
regular car stereo.

Anybody know of one ?

Re: Marine XM Radio

I have an XM Radio and take it on the boat. It is never exposed to the elements though. You can mount it in the cuddy the only thing that needs to be exposed is the antenna.
They do have a marine antenna that you can buy to go with your radio. I have one of those.
There is a new XM that is for weather only. It is called XM WX. You will actually be able to see the weather on a screen. This is different from the music XM radio.

Re: Marine XM Radio

I bought an XM "Roady" for $100 over the summer. Nice small unit with a display and remote. It hooks up with a direct wire (or wireless) modulator to your existing stereo - it works great! You can even have other boats that you're tied up to tune to the same station and they get the XM broadcast too. This Roady kit came with all the necessary components to hook up in the boat and even came with a home docking station so that you can listen there too. It came with a roofmount antenea for a car and I was able to use that. I got mine from Crutchfield but they probably have them all over now.

I also use a stand alone unit mounted in my glove box and use the AUX in on my
receiver.

My antenna is mounted under my dash in a (void) area the signal is fine I have never had it fade in and out. Plastic is plastic and will allow the antenna to work just fine without having a puck and wire hole in your dash.

My Speedo/GPS antenna is also under the dash in another area and it has never failed me.

Delphi XM SKYFi™ Marine Kit

Have you looked at this?

Delphi XM SKYFi™ Marine Kit

The bad news... It's $200 for the "kit". The Delphi XM SKYFi™ receiver is sold separately (another $100). :(
