Re: Who Voted?
just got back; voted for George, in and out in under 10 min. Ran into several neighbors and I told them my Bush sign was missing from my lawn over the weekend, they said their's was to :( Since we had strong winds over the weekend we had thought maybe that's what happened, but I guess not :hothead: typical move for a left winger.

Re: Who Voted?
I'm a Republican. 'Nuff said. :D
I have alot of respect for what I see as some of the greatest minds of modern times in Washington. There's alot we don't know...things that the general public just can't know, can't handle these days. I trust the present administration. Especially Cheney and Powell. These are two brilliant men. They must stay in thier present roles for the good of the country. EDIT: I had no choice above but to vote "Strip for President". After that save in the "surveyor" thread :p he's clearly the only choice! |
Re: Who Voted?
Won't be able to vote this time.
I'm stuck at work and by the time I get home the polls will be closed. There's nothing I can do about it either. :hothead: |

Re: Who Voted?
wrong...there are federal election laws about time away from the workplace to vote. There are some stipulations, but under most all circumstances they have to let you take, I think, up to two hours no penalty to vote if you can legitamately say you didn't have time in your day otherwise because of work committments. It's law, and should be posted somewhere where you work. ;)

Re: Who Voted?
gwb last tuesday.
Noticed something odd today, though. I had to go to the lake house to drop off some coax cable for the guy doing some remodeling over there. Had to pass THREE polling locations to get there. What I noticed: 1) All of the locations (two elementary schools and one church) were PACKED to the gills, with cars bursting out of the parking lots, and lining the streets on both sides. 2) All three polling locations were staffed with volunteers waving and holding signs with candidates' names on them. Lot and lots of signs standing along the roadside. Could virtually see every conceivable candidate's name on all of the many many signs in the yards of the polling locations. 3) The polling location closest to the house had all the same waving volunteers and all the signs except for one noticeable omission.... No Kerry volunteers. No Kerry signs. Not a single one. In a sea of probably 80 to 100 signs, not a single Kerry sign. I just found it odd... A friend called after he left the voting location (the one I just mentioned). He said the wait was a little over an hour at 7:15am. He saw one oddity. He said that during the hour he was there he saw as many as 40 people turned away from the polls. He said they had shown up expecting to "register" and then vote on the spot. He said one group of them had shown up in a cargo van with three Kerry stickers on the bumper. He found humor in it. Called them morons. I'm sure he meant that they were morons for thnking they could register and vote on the spot, not because they were Kerry supporters... |
Re: Who Voted?
Just got done voting. Took me about half an hour at the local high school. Many young people voting, I find this encouraging. :D
