D's ride better than E's. On my Superduty I wnt up one size (BF Goodrich ATKO's) to 285/75R16's. Load capacity of them in D range is like 10 - 20 lbs per tire less than the stock size E range tires, so I did not lose much capacity..

Re: D or E load range tires -which do you like?
D range is what I think for the winter will be better driving.
Is there such a thing a high-performance D-load range tires for SUV's? I see them on Denali's and Escalades, but these aren't 3/4 tons. Have 265/75/16 BF Goodrich TA All Terrains on thier now. Won't be towing until the Spring, but when I do, no more than 8,000LBS. |
Re: D or E load range tires -which do you like?
Always E's on real trucks. If you want ride quality buy a car. :D

Re: D or E load range tires -which do you like?
I just bought a set of Michelin's from Costco, if you have one in your area, I highly recommend them, best prices around... Not sure if mine are D or E range, but you get all this included in the cost:
Mounting Lifetime balancing Lifetime rotation Lifetime flat repair Lifetime air pressure checks New rubber valve stem Costco Wholesale's road hazard warranty and so on... |
Re: D or E load range tires -which do you like?
I have 285/75R16 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my 2500 GMC "D" load range. Alot quieter the BFG's. And price wasn't bad either. :D

Re: D or E load range tires -which do you like?
R Addiction: Those were on my short list. Thanks for the input. Were the the Terra Grapplers or the Terra Grapplers AT?
|
Re: D or E load range tires -which do you like?
Michelins all the way load range.
BFG Long Trail are OK too. Wannabe |
Re: D or E load range tires -which do you like?
Terra Grapplers...not the AT's. Tires wear well. Michelins are my second choice. Call Mitchell (MAMATRYED)
