quoted 3200/year 28 Skater 300 promax's. They need to see experience in other cats, age, and keep the speed under 120mph to have a realistic quote. Not suggesting you lie either, the 2 companies that insure cats have a good idea of what they run with the power you tell them.

I was paying 2800.00 with a 10% deductible on my 30 Spectre with twin 496 H.O.'s. Boat U.S. affiliate program. They did inform me that they will not insure my new 36 Nor-Tech.

I hear if it goes over 120 you wont be able to get insurance unless you try Loyds of London.

The boats and technology today have gone above and beyond yesterdays speeds. I remember several years ago that anything at 80-90 was cutting edge now the bar has beed raised to triple digits or you aint got chit.

I've heard that insurers give diesel powered boats a break on insurance (perhaps due to lower fire claims). Is that true?

Not that I have seen. The company that I had this year no longer insures cats so I will call Sy at Dollar for next year
