Any Feedback on Vortecs?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on Vortec SuperChargers. I was looking at this set up and it looks pretty radical. I spoke to the guys at Wilson and Vortec today and both said this stuff was big bucks and completely custom made. They said it could produce huge power and still be very user friendly at idle. I was told that once everthing is installed on the engines the computers will have to be reprogramed by a copany in Arizona. The guys at Vortec said the guy that had all this stuff custom made had no patientce and they would be happy to assist me because they would love to see what the system could actully do. Any Thoughts?

I have seen a lot of vortech street systems but not any marine systems. I have seen some procharger setups that work pretty good....

sounds pretty expensive to me. Isn't this a test product?

Derebery Performance has had great results with the vortechs. They have a 540ci package with the vortech system that makes a realiable 850hp at low boost. This is a completley built system. It is in quite a few boats and makes quite the sleeper. As for the stock engine with the blower at low boost it is still a very cool setup if installed and tuned correctly. If i had the drives to hold the power i was going to use the vortechs on my 572's.

They said they are not test products, these vortecs are in many boats, the Wilson systems are in quite a few fuel injected, big horse power boats and many dragster types cars. Both systems are proven to be great. This is just the first time both sytems were put together. I was told the first reason is the Wilson components are much more expensive then other items on the market. The second reason, many engine guys are afraid to try new technology unless they have a customer with a huge budget and a mind set for R&D. I think I'm going to take a shot and bid on it.

I installed a pair of Vortecs last year. I have a 31 Scarab with 502MPI's. I was a bit skeptical about their claims but I have to say that I love them.

They idle perfectly and run great. Best of all, the boost doesn't kick in until about 3800 - 4000 RPM's. That saves a ton of wear and tear on the drives, etc.

Before the Vortecs I was doing about 68-69 GPS. Every once in a while when everything was just perfect I would hit 70. The highest I ever got it was 70.4 GPS.

Now, I run between 80 - 81 GPS and the highest I've seen was 81.6.
