Personally, if I had this kind of luck on a low hour boat on a test run, I would walk away. New engine and drive aside. A 98 with these kinds of problems was abused and neglected. It should not have any rotten wood at this young of a life. I would also have somebody check the stringers and hull for stress cracks or damage. Keep your wallet in your pocket and keep looking. There are good boats out there. |

I think hour meters should be run off an oil pressure switch
