Thanks, well whats the scoop on these boats???

Re: I see the National Marine boats have hit Ebay

What I've heard is the bank is trying liquidate them to recover some of their money. Thier are some locked up in litigation and some the buyers had to return their boats and lost a lot of money. Their is a thread on this somewhere on OSO already. I wouldn't step near one unless I knew for sure it was clear and free from national.

Re: I see the National Marine boats have hit Ebay

The bank has their bottom line on each piece of equipment. E-Bay is an opportunity for exposure and I am sure 1-2 will move. The rest will be negoitiated over a conference table by serious people sitting there with CASH.

Re: I see the National Marine boats have hit Ebay

After seeing the ask on some of these boats, they certainly are not a "deal". I think that body count was priced lower while at national. The unrealastic price may explain why the boat hasn't sold after being for sale for the last couple years. 550K for a '99.

Re: I see the National Marine boats have hit Ebay

I would certainly get the bank to sign a waiver saying that the boat is free and clear.....

Yeah 1990 42 fountain with twin 502 MPI's for 109 K
But I do admit you could negotiate some on these units they had.
I put a formal offer in on a top gun but was a broker boat and was turned down.
TimG was PISSED at the owner for not selling it to me.
It was MORE than Fair

Rule of thumb, Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.
Sad but true

Re: I see the National Marine boats have hit Ebay

Yeah, who knows how long it will take to get a clear title. I know some that bought boats and still dont have titles after a long time. So then you wrap up a large sum of money for months??? and find out sorry, no clear title. That sucks!! Not to mention those boats that are others and watching them sell has to hurt.

32 thunder 11-16-2004 12:53 PM

Re: I see the National Marine boats have hit Ebay

Thats what I'm talking about full deposit then you wait to see if you get a clear title!! Try calling a bank and saying I need a 250,000 loan for a boat it's a real good deal but the catch is we may not get a title for it then again we might get a title I'll let you know now how about that 250,000 any bankers want to respond to that one I need a good laugh today.

If I'm not mistaken, this boat was a sinker! I've asked the seller to confirm and they will not respond.

Bodycount WAS for sale for $575,000 at National because it was floorplanned with HSL for that amount.

Check the Abos if you want.

just for comparrison purposes, a 1999 OL 47 with triple FIVE drive (not VI) and 800 hp motors (Not 1200 hp)
Low Wh $289,000
high Wh $330,400
Retail $404,000 We are not asking $550,000 by any means at this point, either.

Hope this helps put this in perspective. I usually don't take hours out of my day to respond to every single person who sits and posts threads about boats they have no intention of purchasing, but I though this might help some of you put a dollar figure on this boat.

THE 39 MTI IS NOT SOLD YET - WE HAD AN OFFER AWAITING COURT APPROVAL, BUT IT IS A LOWER OFFER THAN THE COURT HAD PREVIOUSLY PERMITTED, AND LOWER THAN THE PRICE WE TOLD THE INDIVIDUAL WHO MADE AN "OFFER" THE COURT NEEDED TO APPROVE IT, SO< FOR THE TIME BEING< IT WILL REMAIN ON EBAY.

No money has changed hands and the boat is sitting indoors in Ohio until some one steps up to the plate and pays at least half of what the boat is worth.

No One has wired money and not had a clear title sent to their doorstep within a matter of days.
Trailers, on the other hand, are a little tricky tracking down the paperwork.

MAXIMA5 11-18-2004 05:18 PM

Re: I see the National Marine boats have hit Ebay

Also, keep in mind, you get the boat as collateral while the titlework is signed, notarized, and properly processed. Buyers who need financing have copies of titles faxed to their lending institution for verification.
WE KNOW WHAT WE"RE DOING.

WE ALL KNOW THIS IS AN UNFORTUNATE SITUATION FOR THE BANKS, EX-EMPLOYEES, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, MANY CUSTOMERS, SO IF YOU WERENT INVOLVED, TRY NOT TO MAKE THIS ANY MORE DIFFICULT FOR THOSE WHO IT DIRECTLY EFFECTED

What was the offer if you dont mind me asking. hypothetically speaking, will $260k next week take the boat?

Well, I hope it all works out. I'm sure the "potential" owner is interested in hearing the news.
