Do You Know This Boat?

1 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys (and gals),

I've sold my 38 and am seriously considering purchasing this Tiger. In doing my homework before buying it - I wanted to ask the OSO Family if you know the boat or owner.

Please post your reply, or if you're more comfortable, give me a call or e-mail (ALL INFORMATION WILL BE CONSIDERED CONFIDENTIAL). I am just looking to get all the facts before I commit. As always, thanks everyone!

Re: Do You Know This Boat?

I am familiar with the boat, its at the same marina where I keep my boat in the summer. the boat was racked its whole life. the guy that owns it had the people at the marina take the cover off, clean the interior and put gas in it every time it went in the water for him to use. As i recall the boat wasnt used that often. Also Ocean Performance is great to deal with. Hope this kind of helps...

Ouch - Alright, who in the he!l wants an expensive paint job that just like/very similar to your buddies! If I did, I'd be buying a Fountain :p

Thanks - I didn't think Cig. did this? THAT'S going to cost the seller at least 15k more!

Re: Do You Know This Boat?

As far as I know...there are slight variations in all three......and there was only one Rough Rider, Tiger, and Gladiator with this scheme........I could of course be wrong though... :drink:

Re: Do You Know This Boat?

Yeah - but it still take something away from the boat. Can anyone verify that there were only three painted with this similar paint? What about the same pattern in other colors?

Anyone...Anyone! :D

Re: Do You Know This Boat?

I think you will find this with just about any paint scheme a mfg. comes up with......many of Lipships Gladiators use the same "typhoon" type paint scheme with variations in color....Cigarette is not alone in reproduciing variations on a theme.....it has been that way for quite some time.....so unless you design one yourself....you are ultimately going to see another boat similar to yours.....that is just the way it is ......good or bad.......it doesnt bother me in the least......I think it looks equally as good on a Tiger or a Rough Rider....or a Top Gun ...if there is one out there......Rich

The paint is beautiful.

Re: Do You Know This Boat?

Yeah - I've just always owned an "original" painted boat. Something about everyone saying, "Wow... here comes Joe." Not that we all have big ego's or anything! :D ...and yes, you are all right - I think I'll still get that. It's not like there will be more than one with that scheme in Houston/Austin.

Re: Do You Know This Boat?

Ok... The broker is sending me a Buyers Agreement and I'll be putting a deposit down on the boat (barring inspection and sea-trial).

So, any last comments are appreciated!!! :eureka: Again, I'll keep any requested comments CONFIDENTIAL.

Thanks!

By the way, I believe that boat has steps. I have heard they have trouble turning.

Thanks. I'll do some asking around....

To answer an earlier post - Yes, I do have more pic's, but am VERY picture-pasting illerate (I should ask Strip for help - hehe). I had to get someone to help me post just one. However, FeverFan - If you know how to re-size/format them, go ahead...

FYI - just came across a 2001 w/ 500EFI's that's equally as beauuuuuuutiful (and 90k cheaper). So, I'm making plans to see them both! No pics of this one - Confidential (Sorry  !). I'll keep everyone "post"-ed. :D :D :D

Speed wise it'll run 84-85, but in talking with the Cig. folks, it needs a minimum of 600hp to run like it was built to run. I'll be shipping the motors off to Innovation to get them done.

Don't get me wrong... 85 is good speed, but the boat won't get up (and stay) on the steps like it should. A guy I (who I won't embarrass by giving his name, "Richard!" haha) bought an under-powered 38 - top speed it was ok, but accelleration and getting to the top speed was HORRIBLE -- it rode like a bus!

Joe, if the T/S Tiger you are reffering to is in the Northeast, I've heard that is a really nice boat. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.
