The boat had a forsale sign on it, with a Nassau county phone number.

JC. Does Activator have a web site?

He is changing his website around [Activator]. I think the guy lives up here too. The name of the boat is SLIM SHADY.

RumRunner 11-27-2004 12:42 PM

Re: Activator pansies..........

Yup, that's the boat.

It looked like it had a small cabin. The boat was gone by the time I went back over to take a closer look at it.

Thanks,

Do you have any cockpit/cabin photos? Would the exhaust not fit going out the transum?

JCPERF 11-27-2004 04:00 PM

Re: Activator pansies..........

I have to download some more pics.I wanted a full race stellings header. With a bravo the headers were to long. The collector would have stuck through the transom[no transmission] to push the motor forward.

Re: Activator pansies..........

What drive are you using?

How is it to get in there and work on it?

JCPERF 11-27-2004 04:21 PM

Re: Activator pansies..........

I have a Teague upper and an imco lower with the new xr vertical shaft. The boat has about 3 hours on it since new. I take boost out to race it.

Re: Activator pansies..........

We use alot of Demons at Zuls. The 850 demons run great. The dominator stuff needs work to get right. Do you think it has anything to do with the location of the booster in the venturi?

RumRunner 11-27-2004 05:29 PM

Re: Activator pansies..........

I've had this discussion with Richie many times. The booster in a King Demon is in the exact same location (in relation to the venturi) as a Dominator. We've got a lot of engine builders that use them, and have real good results with them. I given Richie some things to try to determine what calibration he needs on his engines.

JCPERF 11-27-2004 06:59 PM

Re: Activator pansies..........

We ran the race demon on the dyno [on one of my personal motors]. Richie got it to perform as good as a modified holley. It still didnt have the idle quality as the holley. We spent 3 days on the dyno with it. We got it close. The reason we wont run the big demons is the amount of labor and dyno time that we have to spend to get them perfect. On the other hand the 850 style demons are far more superior than the holley in any way.

RumRunner 11-27-2004 09:28 PM

Re: Activator pansies..........

My engine can idle all day without having a problem (well that's probably not true, but I have had it idle for almost an hour and half) nothing on the transum, clean as can be. 1095 RS King Demon on a 250 TBS blower.

Re: Activator pansies..........

How about normally aspirated stuff?

RumRunner 11-28-2004 04:51 PM

Re: Activator pansies..........

I've got a ton of engine builders using them with really good results. Richie has some different philisophies on how he builds his stuff, I just haven't had the time to fly up when he's dyno testing to come up with a tune up for his engines.

Re: Activator pansies..........

JC,

1) Do you have a phone number for Activator?

2) Looking at the pictures of the cockpit of your 32' it looks like the 27' that is listed forsale here. The 32' (Slim Shady) that was in Key West appeared to have a cabin. Do they have different models on the 32'?

Thanks,

Doug

ActiveFun,

Thanks for the number.

Caferacer,

Thanks, I'm not ready to buy anything just yet, besides I'd rather get something that I can rig myself, and use my own power.
