Re: New Year's Day "Fun Run"
The "snag" I think has been overcome. I am going to give it my all. Taking two days off of work next week to try to get this back together. The stern may not be finished with the wetsanding, but if it floats and runs that's all that matters at this point. Keep your fingers crossed for luck.
COME ON GOOD LUCK...... |

Re: New Year's Day "Fun Run"
Well at 12:30 this afternoon everything was going good. Then we ran into a brick wall. An issue we don't understand with the new exhaust system. Risers, all gaskets, my new custom made spacers (using a riser as the template) all have water jackets on all four sides. We went to start bolting the spacers on, pulled the duct tape off the openings in the manifolds that Gusman had put on to keep moisture out while I was dealing with the spacer issue, and no water jackets in the manifolds. There are plugs in the manifolds and risers for hoses to connect to, but that leaves the spacer a "dead zone". We don't know if that's an issue or not. We don't know if we got the wrong manifolds. We don't know what to do. So after trying to call anybody we could think of for ideas, for three hours, we said phuck it. This is one of those things we don't know if we're just being stupid, or what. But neither of us wants to chance it and screw something up, we both feel it's a "if you guess wrong you guess REAL wrong" deal.
I could opt for the Stainless Steel risers which have the 3 inch spacer built in, but then I pick up weight, and wasted almost seven hundred bucks on the custom made spacers. Don't have a clue what to do. I'll be making phone calls Monday, but Gusman leaves to go to Minnesota Wed. am. for the holidays and can't get back to it until he gets back, Jan 2. SO, it looks like Cuda's right. It's discouraging. |

Russ
Sorry to hear about your bad luck! Like I said before you are more than welcome to ride with me! We went out this afternoon for a little bit still trying to get used to the new boat but things are going pretty good. Met Ryan Beckley at the ramp today he was out running the Skater! |
Re: New Year's Day "Fun Run"
Russ, there's not supposed to be water in there. The water enters the exhuast farther back.
