Re: New Year's Day "Fun Run"

Russ, those plugs are a b!tch to get out, even brand new ones. I had to remove some plugs when I installed FWC on the 20. One of them I fought all day long to get off. Rounded it off, twisted it off, and ended up cutting it out with a dremel. The other side I got off in ten minutes. I found the secret is to heat the plug and the boss up with a propane torch, then put an ice cube on the plug. It will turn right out.

These WERE brand new ones, in brand new manifolds. There was a little powder coating on the threads where the manifolds were powdercoated. Plus, Gusman put RV "RED" sealant on the threads. They came off just not easy, took a little ole fashioned muscle to get them to turn out.

Already wish the sun was up, I'm anxious to get going on it again. I'd like to try to get it done early enough to splash it late tomorrow afternoon just to see how it will run on the water. Running on a hose and running on the water is "two different boats of two different colors". (like the anology...???)

Looks like I'll have to talk to Deb about getting that motor "backturned"...:D :D

Well things are moving along, but slowly. Got the new tips installed. Am ready to start the brackets and accessories but keep running into little issues. The exhaust hose on the two center manifolds were hitting the Halon canister. Had to relocate that. Now looking at the way the oil filters mount, it looks like it's going to intefere with the way the water hose runs from the manifold up to the riser. So I'm going to have to mount those first then deal with the hose. It's getting there, but right now I have doubts it will be ready for tomorrow.

Got the "lowers" painted silver, they came out good.

Just going to slow though.
