Key West Hotel Advice for Next Year
 

If we book an oceanfront room next year, which hotel would have the best unobstructed view of the race? Pier House? Hilton? Who was there that knows?

If you can get it and money is not an object Ocean Key House no doubt.

Ocean Key House but make sure you get the side facing the harbor, not just the bottom turn.

The Hilton might also have some rooms with a great view of the harbor.

I apologize for not contacting you back any sooner! We have already made our reservations at the Hilton. We had a front row view of the race and the amenities were wonderful! We had seats right near the bar where they had a buffet available (the VIP sections were located downstairs from us in the same area). The pool is located behind the viewing area which is nice to cool off in in between races. One of the best parts about watching the races was being with some of the OSO members! We had a blast!!

November 13 - 20.

We just got the corner oceanfront suite! They have awesome views and will be a great place to party! :drink:

I need a place to watch from when I'm not racing. I actually think your view was better than mine since you were closer to the boats I was chasing!

Cat, maybe we'll be neighbors. I booked the same, but we're just coming down for the weekend. Thanks for the info. We really had a lot of fun this year.
Ocean Key Resort has a four night minimum.

Ocean Key for sure. watched the race there one year with Wicked Won and crew on the top floor facing the course. we had prop wash from the helicopters on the balcony. that was the first time i was there and have gone ever since :D

we were at "eye level" with the choppers (pics not so good)

the first one shows just how close we really were :eek: :D

We just booked a hotel in key west. The Sheridan. With an employee discount it was $38. :drink:

Me too..........At 319 a night at the Hilton I would say those dates are correct.

Don't recall exactly where Pierhouse is (sounds good though), but do recall the Hilton being right in the middle of it all.

We stayed at the Radisson on the dam opposite side of the island. I was very disappointed since the APBA site listed them as a host hotel. I thought the races would be right there. I should have looked further into it. Oh well, I'll know better for next years plans.
