Need help with OSO classifieds!

OK, hoping someone can help me out. I was looking at a boat on there last night, a 1989 Cig Top Gun out of Overland Park, KS (and I'm assuming LOTO). Boat looked very clean, was kept on a covered lift (shown in one picture) and had a full cover on it. Boat had been repowered with 502 Mag EFI's with Gil exhaust. Had a Furuno chartplotter/GPS mounted in the middle of the fairing over the cabin door with the antenna over on the passenger side dash. Graphics were a couple of stripes down the side kind of similar to Lucky Strike's Cig.

Now the problem - I didn't print the ad, and it is no longer out there in the classifieds. If anyone knows this boat or how to contact the owner, please let me know!

Many, many thanks!!!!

Smart ass ;)

I'd been talking to Spicy about his Concept, we're just not sure if an open boat is the way to go up here on the Great Lakes. Mrs. dockrocker saw this particular Cig yesterday and I was going to follow-up on it today.

Ed, I'd be all over LS' boat, but unfortunately out of our price range. But in a few months... ;) LS, appreciate the heads-up, I'll definitely talk to Gordo. And if Uncle Sam is good to me on the tax return, you and I might be talking as well... :)

I know that boat you're talking about. It was in the boattraderonline as well. This wasn't the first time it was listed. it was listed last summer too but for more $$. I wonder what the issues are with it. Besides the color scheme that is!! :D

Just checked boattrader, it's not on there. Check this out, though:

1988 Cig TG

$150K for a 1988 hull and #3 drives? I mean, that's some nice hardware but that seems awfully pricey...

It was the one with the big purple 12" subs in the sides of the cockpit. The colors were pinkish and purple with some funky squigly pink line down the middle. Dash has alot of purple in it.

Yea, well I'm sure you'd be firm too if you went down more than 10g's in your asking price :drink:

So what's the story on the boat???

Like I said previously, ask Gordo if you really want to know. He went and looked at the boat. Btw, Tank, your membership expired.

Re: Need help with OSO classifieds!

I got a note from someone who looked at this boat. Said it is possible one of the motors might be sick. Nothing definite, and might be worth it if you factor in the cost of a rebuild into the purchase price.

Still an option for us...

Re: Need help with OSO classifieds!

If one of the motors is sick you can figure on spending a chunk of change on it. If you're going to look at this or any other performance boat the smart thing to do is to have the engines surveyed, and I don't mean by the surveyor that you'll hire to do the hull.

Spend a little more, get a boat with everything new in the bilge including all new exhaust ;)
