Possibly parting out a boat
I 'm looking at possibly buying one of my customer's boat, it's a 1984 Formula 302 . The boat has 454 Mags (365's) , Borg Warner Trannies and Trs drives. Mechanically the boat is in very good shape . It also has a triple axel nextral aluminum trailer(10,500). The cockpit interior needs to be replaced . My question is : Is there anyone that would be interested in the Boat or motors or drive's or trailer . I would like to get some interest in some of the parts prior to buying it.. I think that the boat is probably worth alot more pieced out then whole. Hense my idea for buying...What do you guys think .. Tom

Re: Possibly parting out a boat
ScottC, I haven't figured all the prices yet . But I will let you know. I'm trying to see if I have enough interest in the parts to do this.
F31, I would probably leave the interior intact . Reed , I would be into it for about 10 g. He wants 12,ooo for it. Tom |

Re: Possibly parting out a boat
I think audiofn will take the deck, the hull, the stringers, the cabin interior, and the engine hatch. He might also be interested in the gelcoat, the rubrail, and pretty much anything else... ;)

I cannot believe that Jon has not replied yet. |
Re: Possibly parting out a boat
A guy in Rhode Island did a complete re-do on a 1983 302 SR-1. He pulled the engines and drives, filled in the transom, cut it for outboards and has one of the neatest boats in his area. They went crazy with teak in the cockpit and cabin and the boat gathers a crowd wherever it goes. I had the privilege of driving it last summer and the balance and handling are excellent. Hate the sound of the outboards however.
