Check out the article at the Tribune Chronicle 12/2/04 where the Prince of Bahrain payed $954 grand for a 51 Outerlimits to National Marine and never took possession of it.

Regardless of who or how wealthy that guy is doesn't matter. The fact is more dirt continues to be brought forth. Don't be so hypocritical boyz ...we burn the gas they supply it, simple economics. Just because it's a high ticket number doesn't mean it didn't hurt.

I agree...but there are a lot more people here in the good ole USA that I am much more worried about getting their money back than some oil fed daddy's boy in the middle of the desert.

It has to be especially agravating considering Oil boy didn't send the money to NM.... it was sent to the manufacturer... NM just had the boat. I think the boat is being siezed along with eveything else. At least that is my understanding from what I have read in this thread.

It's amazing how the banks can be as bad as loan sharks when it comes to siezing property without knowing the whole story. I'm sure the attorney's are getting rich over this debacle. I wonder if they are ever going to be able to figure out where the money went... I would be willing to bet Bill has been robbing Peter to pay Paul for years... and it finally caught up to him. He probably used the money to pay operating expenses and payroll... thinking that he could make it up in the spring when boats move.... I like the old expression " The road to hell is paved with good intentions."........ :evilb:

Reediddy,, I was wondering the same thing.. were Bill's intentions good, I.E. payroll, operating costs, trying to get people the best deals, or was he an outright crook, stealing the money ???

Clearcut I don't disagree with your comment. I've got a very considerable sum involved and trust me I don't have Prince of Bahrain money (or his poor cousin twice removed for that matter).
My observation was that no one deserves to get screwed like this...whether you make 30K or 300M.

I will say that I am running out of patience and it looks like no end in the forseeable future. For some (me included) this could go on for a while.

I'm seriously contemplating getting out of this sport, if I ever can that is.

Well said Dano. Hang in there. I also just got hit for some moneyalso by a lieing son of a *****. NOTHING like this but it is still hurting my financial situation none the less. It is something that I did not need or plan for. I also almost went down and put a 4 sale sign on my boat. Then I remembered all the good times that I have had and know that once I get past this I will have more.
I also do not think that it matters what this guy does or who he is. He got hosed just like a lot of you. For me it is not only the financial drain, I can make more money. It is the psycological impact of knowing that you got hosed and the second guessing yourself about what you may have done wrong. This prince is I am sure going through the same feelings as we all are.

Guys I fill for ya. I was lucky in my dealings with him. My bank was ready to charge him with fraud and he ended up paying the boat off. I can only quess he screwed someone else to do it. Who was his partners in this. I can remember someone by the name of Tit somthing? These guys have seemed to vanished too.

Unfortunately we were in the middle of your deal since it was our boat. But we worked together to get it done and we made two new friends out of the deal. We were also lucky that we got out when we did (barely).

We feel for everyone that got caught up in this mess. :mad:

Let me put it like this: Bloom called me and said Bill wanted an '04 Lamborghini Murcielago E-gear and knew my dealer would bump him since I am have dealt with them forever. Once I foolishly got an incoming car reserved he came back and wanted a discount. WHen a new Lambo comes out you have to pay MSRP unless you have a very long relationship with your dealer. He was driving around in a Ferrari 360 Spyder at the time and Bloom wanted me to buy it so they did'nt have to trade it in. I have no idea what kind of homes he owned but I believe he had a townhouse in FL. If I recall correctly Bill did'nt live anything like an average Joe because he had to keep up the BS that he was a mega millionaire. For anyone unfamiliar with the term "Mega"in TX means excess of $10mil net.
