First Trident Boat Popped From the Mold Today
These pics temporarily unavailable. Scroll down a couple of posts.
What an exciting event. The first boat from the mold. 27' deck boat.
For those that are unfamiliar with Trident. They made the leap into the next century with the hull layup techinque.
Gel Coat, Linear Foam core, Minimal layers of propriatery cloth. All put under vacum dry. While under vacuum the resin was infused.
This is a first for the famiily boat manufacturing industry. Lighter and stronger than any other.
Enjoy these pictures. Register here at their web site for regular updates and the update archives are great reading.

The finished hull pic links are down right now apparently.
Here are some pics during the resin infusion. There is a video of this on Trident's site.

Just for the sake of friendly interesting discussion.
What exactly is the comparison? To be fair I have not communicated enough about the Trident to facilitate a good discussion.
The German boat uses epoxy which a few US build boats are using. They have carbon, Aramid, glass fibre etc in the construction but it is still a wet layup method used.
The Trident uses only a fraction of the resin of any other boat. Resin is non structural but a necessary and heavy component.
Without speaking out of turn maybe Trident will speak up soon on the weight of the hull and how much resin was actually used for this 27' deck boat.

Re: First Trident Boat Popped From the Mold Today
Well the photo unreliability has driven a dedicated photo gallery. The model, building the plug and mold, also the first boat.
