Default Mesa Balancing Motors, whos got what to say?

I am close to buying a pair of 525+/- hp motors form Mesa Balancing. Seems like a good outfit. Quick responses to questions. Fair pricing. Warranties on motors. Anybody here have any experience with them and their product. Let me know the nitty gritty. Thanks in advance.

Regards, Mark

Mark,
Laz has been building motors for a long time...
I've seen his work in Albert's 28 Pantera....
Very nice engine, great reliability.

There's a strong chance that my next boat will have a Mesa engine in it......

Don't hesitate....

Look at this link. Another OSO member had his motor in his P5 boat built and installed by them. I have only heard good things about them and will be considering them to build my motor when ready.

Talk to Jo at Pantera as I believe they use Mesa Balancing as well.

Good Luck

Did you want to go EFI or carb?

You can call me anytime you wish for any info on his outfit. I raced all year with one engine nothing but the best, motor still has 80 lbs of oil presure.

Well in his post I have agreed with everything he has said about building engines. Therefore Mesa would be my 1st choice for any application if I didn't want to do it myself.

Thanks for the input guys. Your responses reflect the feeling that I have been getting in e-mails with Laz back and forth. The motors are going to be a carbed set-up. As for TMP, they did me a wrong in the past. Not major, but they did not live up to what they agreed to. That is enough for me not to go back to them for a big purchase like motors.

I've gotten great advice from Laz.
His prices are also competitive.
If I were buying new power, it'd be MB.

TMP did a 625hp 540 for me that has run a great all season....65 hours. They are also building a pair of 1400's for my buddy's new 4300 cat. Got a pair of 500's from them 2 years ago..still going strong. Had a minor valvetrain issue (broken guideplate) on the 540 and they came from lousiana to tennessee to fix it under warranty. Couldn't be any more satisfied with thier motors.
