I live in Vegas... There is usually 250-350K people on the strip for the fireworks. This years show should run about 45 minutes due to the 100 anniversary of Las Vegas. The best place to view the show is from you room if you are staying on the south end of the strip, if not on that end any place is good. They close the strip from Sahara to Trop down starting at about 9PM for vehicles, you have to walk the strip. 2 years ago we were down there, it took 3 hours to get to the car and leave the strip after the show, we will never do that again. We live on the NW side of town, about 15 miles from the strip and watch it all from the balcony at the house.

I was there about 8 years ago for New Years. Played golf on New Years Eve and spent most of the next 24 hours at the blackjack table. The Hacienda was imploded on New Years Eve; which was right near the Luxor where we stayed. From what I remember, it was crowded almost everywhere we went. I'm pretty sure you could do a search as to events going on. You should have a blast no matter where or what you do. Enjoy. :drink:

Most of the casinos will be launching fireworks from the roof tops and there will be lasers from downtown to the strip.

Plan on 1-2 hour wait in line at 54, then $40 cover for out of towners... There are many better places than 54 in town. And you have to tip VERY heavy to get them to wear the outfit you choose....
