Glad I'm not going crazy ! I noticed that it is REALLY BAd with the heat or AC on now ..... I actually get a sore throat in a matter of minutes from the fumes .

I left this truck stock as the 03's were suposed to have so many problems . I never really did except for a bad idle . Now I have faith in the truck ,but it's time to get an 05 . That one is getting tweaked for sure ! I've been too long without power !

As many trucks as I work on everyday , I am surprised I have only found this twice .
Thanks for the info guys . I just hope the dealer can fix the problem without causing another one ! You know how they are .......

Wait till 2006.
Ford is releasing a new 6.4L or 6.5L Powerstroke!
They lost 50 million on the 6.0L engine

My father has a 6L and has had it back to the dealer 12 times. They have no idea what is wrong. It has 11,000 miles on it , It smokes bad when you start it and will not respond to the throttle until you have driven it at idle for 5 miles or so. The dealer has changed lots of parts, it sets in the lot with him driving a rental at fords expense. Trying to get ford to buy it back.

Carney,
Ford has a book that shows all the common wiring pinch and chafe points in the engine compartment of the 6.0 liter trucks. Your dad may have a bad wiring harness. A friend of mine has been working on fixing a no start problem on a F550.The truck is getting a new engine wiring harness.Hope this helps

Boot,
If your bring your truck to Flemington. Ask to have Oren work on it. I spoke to him about your problem and he as fixed other trucks for this problem.
