Fun people?
 

Hey guys and gals, I am looking for some people to hang out with on or near Lake Conroe. I bought a waterfront home a year ago and don't have to many boater friends . I'm joining topps but their functions don't start till next year. Ladies are always a plus (hint ...single 35 year old male)! Friends in general would be nice... people that can handle boat talk without having their eyes glaze over. Most of my friends loose interest when I start talking about hi flow heads and blowers! Also interested in what others drive on the lake as I have a 29 foot scarab with a single 502 mpi.

Hey Perfboat! Careful what you wish for... :D

Our crowd has been talking about dragging our boats to Conroe this spring for a day. Got an assortment: '42 Sonic, 30 Sonic, 30 Superboat, 30 Donzi, 26 Thoroughbred... We'll hook up! No problem talking boats... bunch o' gearheads! The wives just roll their eyes and move to the end of the table, when the talk starts! :evilb:

One day, you'll have to drag yours down to the nasty old salt and hang with us out in Nassau Bay. Tons of the stuff we like: thongs and beer and thongs and beer... :D

Welcome Perfboat!!

As Bglz42 said, we're a VERY active crowd a few miles to the south, come on down!! This weekend looks gorgeous (sorry to those in the colder climes) - clear skies and a high of 76 is forecasted - guess where we'll all be?????? Boat parade on Clear Lake this Saturday night, with lots of marina parties going on. Talk to us.....

Will do! One of the guys (MadMax911 30' Sonic) would really like to see your boat. His other boat is the Exciter 24 ex-raceboat with a Blackhawk. He's a big fan of Blackhawks, and I told him about your boat. :D

Wow, great responses. This weekend I'll be around the house rebuilding one of my piers. However, I will be on Lake Conroe Saturday and Sunday. Anyone interested in hooking up this weekend. We could meet over at papas in the afternoon. Just can't pass up a good weather opportunity in the winter. I'm going nuts sitting around dreamin' of the water while watching it rain. Yeah, I know rain is water but not the kind that makes for an enjoyable boating venture.

ST31 - I think I met you at Carlos and Charlies one night last year. Are you who I'm thinking of? Brought down your boat for Bob to work on? Anyway, you planning any trips to Lake Travis this year.

It's hard to believe there are many of you out there boating on weekends in December, January, February and March (and April because you're not boating in Cleveland in April)when there are many of us who just visit the garage to take a peek at our boats and think back to the last time we boated......many, many months ago :( :eek:

We really need to make our plans to get to Florida........and sooner than we anticipated.

It's 32 Deg F, have received freezing rain, rain, snow, freezing rain again.......I want clear skies and 76 Deg too ;)

I keep my Sea Ray at Freeport, I might be moving it to South Shore if it doen't sale quickly. My fountain is on Conroe. to answer you question once or twice a year. mainly for the TOPPS clear lake run

We didn't make the Topps run this year, but will be there next year.

ST31, we're doing another houseboat trip to Travis this year. We had a blast last year, ten couples/two houseboats/five of us brought our boats. Hell of a party. :drink:

Give us some notice when you come down, and we'll make a party out of it. I've got mine at Bob's shop now for a little repower, but should be back up and running in a couple of weeks.

I also plan on making a couple of trips to Lewisville and Texoma this summer. I forgot where you said you spent most of your time.

Sounds like a great time. We definitly have to work on hooking up for a weekend there or on Lake Texoma.

I have mine put up for the winter, but ready to start working on it again soon for the season including some more stereo work and getting the props polished up.

We definitly should hook up again this season either at Travis or up here. I am about 8 miles from Lewisville so that it always easy. Texoma is only about 55 minutes from my house as well. Tell Bob that I said hello when you see him.

Not a member of any orgs currently. I don't think that we have anything like Topps here although I wish we did.

We were at the Labor Day run on Texoma. Amazing boats as always. This year a friend of mine and I took our boats with several people to watch. The people that were with me had never seen a poker run, and couldn't believe the boats and the speeds they were running as they went by where we had anchored. We ran part of the way with them when they were coming back.

I guess I should have thought before making that comment, LOL. What did you get? Let's see some pics. When is the first run scheduled for Travis? Isn't it usually the Baja run sponsored by the Ski Dock? You guys wouldn't mind a Sonic crashing the party again this year would you?

I worked on that SOB all weekend :mad: partied with alot of girls :drink: but I dropped a valve Sat afternoon :mad: but I will be ready by spring and ready to go. my job kept me very busy last summer, it looks better this year :cool:

Yep first run is usually in april. bring it on down. last sept, they tried making it a baja/chaparral/tige (all the brands they sell) poker run, but it was the same ole people.

Thought it looked familiar. I was directly behind you at the light......good looking boat. I live just down the road on Parmer across Mopac. Surely the HOA police don't let you keep that thing in your driveway.

yea they havent complained yet. Its been there for the couple of weeks ive owned it. Im looking at storage right now. Im too cheap for a slip :D

I'm sure you'll start getting those nice little nastygrams on your door soon enough. I'm looking for storage myself. There are a couple of places down by 620 and 2222 that are a pretty good price for a lockable garage type unit.

my brother started construction on one in lago vista, but

1. its too far
and
2. i will probably get too many nastygrams by the time hes done with it.

I might be willing to drive to Lago if I didn't have to drag the boat along with me. What type of place is he building? Is there a ramp there? Hook me up with some contact info?

I did find two pretty good places. I haven't done anything yet because the boat has been in the shop for a few weeks. One is called Four Points 338-1820, it's on 2222 just south of 620. The other is Hudson Bend 266-9324, they are about a mile from the damn. Asphault floors 24 hour access, gated entrance, locked garages.
