The price is without power but is still a good buy. Forget what the price was complete. Maybe the owner will post

the add sounds like its with power. i have heard the class one motors requires quite bit more maintenance than most but even at that it looks like a great price for the package. where does it say without power?

Sean H 12-12-2004 10:27 PM

Re: Why hasnt this Skater sold yet

in the title of the ad, it says complete or without power..... if that is with power, somebody needs to pick that up....

glassdave 12-12-2004 10:29 PM

Re: Why hasnt this Skater sold yet

oops . . just saw the "with or without" at the top of the page. should be a little more specific in the ad though. still looks like a great boat.

Re: Why hasnt this Skater sold yet

I bought the hull and trailer new from Skater. I had a shop here in Pasadena Ca. do most of the rigging, and was done very clean. The person who owns it now, I don't think has used it very much, and when it was sold to him it was immac. Can't belive someone has not pick this boat up yet. It ran very well with 6s and a pair of 1000s.

I was wondering the same thing, what kind of half-ass rigging job places the tachs where they are impossible to read...kinda makes you wonder

For $75k you get the hull & trailer. Yes, USD.

Looks like a nice piece. Even without the motors its a good price with the drives. With the finicky efi motors it should run VERY well. This is the 32' Classic which doesn't run as well as the 32B or the 36'. I'd still take it over a Nor Tech though. I would think power for power it would out run a 36' Nor Tech.

you're probably looking at 5-6k for insurance for that thing... not to bad considering what you are getting.

Funny you ask this... I owned the 32 in question, and now own a 36 Nor-tech. The 32 Skater ran 145.9, and with 92 hp more per motor the 36 Nor-tech so far with more to go, ran 161.2. The nor-tech had 5 people and half tanks, and the 32 Skater had 2 people with half tanks. You explain that to me. The 32 out accelorated it by far, but were talking about 2500lbs in difference. I have been in both the 32 classic and the 32b. This is just my opinion, but I think the classic will run faster in smooth water, but the b will take bigger water. If any of you with Bs don't agree, pull up to Dearberrys 32 classic or the agitator classic, and you will get enlightend.

wow! I guess I under estimated some of the 36' Nortechs. I think there styling is awesome, and they aren't afraid to do anything wild thats for sure. I just didn't think it would put up those big numbers.

Re: Why hasnt this Skater sold yet

The 32B is faster across the board over the 32 Classic.

Charlie (Merlin 540) will agree, his friend has a 32B for him to compare to.

Re: Why hasnt this Skater sold yet

wouldn't the tachs and trim indicators be hard to see in that boat especially at those speeds?

The 32 classic takes a lot of power. Its limit seems to be 165ish. Derebery performance has 2 32 classics running 150+. Here is a the vid of the derebery 32. I personally have been in this boat at over 150, very comfortable.

The interior was done by the guy who does Hallets interiors. We even put side pockets in it since the interior that came stock had nothing to even put your wallet in. The tachs work very well if you throtle from the left side, and still fine from the right. And yes 1/4's would of been nice. I about went deaf in my right ear. No **** with 1000s that boat hauled the mail. It's clean and it would make someone very happy.

If they are asking that much $ for the hull, you can buy a new one for that much $ and put the tachs in a more appropriate location.
