I understand that the package including the Ilmor V10 and the Teague Platinum Drive will be dollar for dollar per horsepower equal to Merc. including the 1 year warranty.

Wilbus Marine, who sell Ilmor V-10's are a sponsor on midwestboatparty. They have there own forum area over there. Try asking there, the guys from Wilbus monitor the forum.

Ilmor will send someone if need be to work on them. I have had them one time at my house because of a faulty idle sensor. But, any Dodge dealer can do it.
Ilmor is looking for a network of good mechanics that they can train to work on them. I have already put them in touch with one of our certified merc. mechanics in my area who wants the training and said he would be happy to do the work. I have to say that I have been very pleased with Twin Vipers. They are great people to deal with.

Fred get that "Cigarette" out of your mouth....you know Fountain's are faster. :evilb:

That Illmor/Teague-Platinum Drive combo would be just about right for a 28' Pantera single. Tons of Torque. Jo ought to lay one up.

Rome is the sales manager for Wilbus Marine. I was in their 32 with twin Ilmor's and Teague's on the Key West run. 32 Advantage full of fuel, five guys, two of them over 300lbs, in 1 to 2 Foot Chop, 94.9 MPH. This is after we left Coconut Grove, when a group of people passed the pace boat. The engines and drives have over 120 Hrs of use on them, I wanna say. It might be more. No engine problems and no drive problems. The Wilbus team has been trying to shatter the engines and drives, but haven't, yet.

If you guys have not seen the new Powerboat issue, take a look. Ilmor just completed the jungle run in the Citgo sponsored 33 eliminator which ran the 1140 mile run and came in first in class and 3rd overall out of about a hundred boats. The Ilmors are a tough engine and high quality factory support. Ilmor has dominated the Indy circuit for the past 10 years and will do so in the marine industry I am sure. The money and the backing is there.
I believe they will give Mercury Marine a run for the money. At the Miami boat show I know they are going to release a new upgraded package which will be a higher horsepower than the new merc.'s I for one will look forward to the new addition to the marine scene
