I told him he will adapt and bring the fish to the sides. In NY most of the fishing boats are inboards, but I know in FL many guys that are serious fisherman use OBs, so they can't be too bad. The question is... do the outboards get in the way? The outboards don't get in the way, and they are actually easier than to deal with than a fish diving under the boat. My brother and I have a 21' ProLine with 200hp Merc OB and it's perfect for our needs. No cabin, no bs. We plunder in Barnegat Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and have never had an issue with our lines tangling around the OB/prop. IMO, it's easier dealing with an OB setup maintenance wise, manueverability and when a fish dives under the boat vs an IB setup. CC with an OB is the way to go!

Re: Outboard fishing boats
fever mike, Yellowfin offers a 34 w/ quad steps and a cuddy tripple 275 verado's over 70 mph. When all is concidered, not overly pricy concidering what you get. Our 36 w/ tripple motors and tri-axle aluminum trailer was bought for the price of a sluggish 32 regulater w/ no trailer
frequent flyer, the big boats required too mutch attention. I enjoy angling, but also had the chore of running the vessel. Tough to fight fish from the tower. However in New England we have to run to tghe canyons (150 - 200 miles offshore) can't beat a 70,000 pound 3 stateroom house that runs 41 knots. But for daily fishing can't beat the little boats that just require a hose instead of a crew of four to clean. |

Here is the Center Console on the old 37. Stormrider, the guy who bout this boat from us had it in Long Island, but it's for sale now.
Wardey that was only the second one they built. They have one at the shop now with Yanmar 440's. Runs low 70's. Awesome. |
