Fresh water Flush kits
Does anyone make a Fresh water Flush kit to install between the Bravo1 and the raw water pump? A stainless "T" and all the hose and picece parts.

Re: Fresh water Flush kits
Mercury does. It is a complete kit less hose (purchase locally) for about $135 per engine.
I opted to get two T-fittings and two 90* hose barbs from Hardin Marine and make my own. I have the parts, but have not installed yet. Took me 4 days to get the feed hoses that go into the water pumps off. |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
Sydwayz,
Are your "T"s stainless steel? Did you get them @ Hardin? I looked at there website last night and I didn't find them? Thx, Dean |

Stainless marine sells the t's Gonna be at Sarasota? Dan |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
DanB,
Thanks, I found them. As far as NYD, we are still trying to see how that fits in to all the other holiday/work/family plans? I'd love to do it! :D Dean |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
Brass will work better. Not as pretty. I installed brass on the cat. Hook up the fitting right before your sea strainer. I have one buddy who used quick disconnects instead of valves.
Has anybody heard of "Salt Away"? |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
Dean
Hope ya can make it E39 Use it all the time, flush motors the wash down the boat. Desovlves salt on contact. Your in FM??..we need to hook up some day Dan |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
express,
Salt Away is a great product that chemically neutralizes the salt. And like Dan said, it works great for flushing the engines AND washing to boat, just spray it on and rinse it off. Dean, If you are "building" a flush system, you might want to think about having a distribution block where you only have to hook the hose up one time. Mine is a block of aluminum that has multiple fittings in it. Water from the hose goes in, then there is two ball valves ,one for each engine, and I just open which ever valve I need for the individual engine. Just an idea, it makes it a little easier to flush the engines by yourself. Robert |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
Robert,
Thanks for the advise. I will be hanging out with John Cosker this weekend, and we'll come up with a plan. :D JC is going to get me some Stainless Marine Ex. Manifolds also. We'll have to get together and go boating now that we've got a bigger boat, one that I can at least chase behind you with! :drink: Happy holidays to you and Demi. Dean and Robin |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
Dean,
John Pompi is the one that installed mine when he was rigging the boat back in 2000, so they know where to get the parts. Happy Holidays to you and Robin :drink: Robert |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
Robert,
John and John installed the one I have in my Velocity now, so I think we can duplicate that one with your Manifold too. When are you going to the Keys again? Dean |

Robert is right, that is the best system.
In our rig we have that to attach the hose and a pull lever shut-offs (look at bottom left of the picture) to shut the external water pick-ups to rinse your engines even when your staying in saltwater overnight. All boats from Lip-Ship come with that. |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
GLH,
That's a sweet set-up. Thanks for the pic. Dean |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
GLH,
That's a neat set-up on the Cigs, but what I was talking about was where you hook the hose to the flush. On yours, you have to undo the hose to change engines, mine you just have to switch the valves. Not trying to be offensive, just making clear what I was talking about. I DO wish I could set up my raw water intale shut offs like yours, but I don't have enough room where the valves are. It was nice meeting you in KW. Robert |
Re: Fresh water Flush kits
DF,
I went with two of these: http://www.hardin-marine.com/detail.aspx?ID=884 and two of these: http://www.hardin-marine.com/detail.aspx?ID=1132 I may try the routing them to one input. That is a cool Idea. For as often as I will spend the night in SW and have the opportunity to flush the engines, I will just stick a couple pieces of waterproof duct tape over the intakes. :D :D Just gotta remember to take it off in the morning. |

The shut off part is choice, beiing in fresh water I don't need it but in FL it's nice to have. Same here nice meeting you, Nice Ride your pushing around!!! Where's WW1/JD been? |
