Re: OT: (Sort of) Credit Check Services
Does anyone know where you can see insurance claims that you made (or supposedly made)? I just applied for some boat insurance, and they told me that I had made a claim before on my house which is B.S. . I asked them what to do, and they said to go to Experian. I just did the free credit report from Experian, everything seems ok, but no insurance claims are listed - it doesn't seem that they report that.
Where can you check that type of information?

Those are the big three that everyone uses (and who the bank will check with) so it's probably better to stick with them when checking your own credit... I use experian, I feel their the best to deal with, but any of the three will work.
They just made a law that will get you one free credit report per year but it goes into effect for different parts of the country at different times starting on the west coast (apparently they have a lot more credit problems) so it will probably be the end of the year before you can get it.
