beware of buying siezed boats from NM
I bought a boat that was siezed from National Marine. I felt good about the deal because I was buying from the bank. Andrew S. is the "receiver" and is a lawyer handling the transaction. My offer was made based upon clear title for boat and trailer. I got the title to the boat but they can't provide me with the title to the trailer. you would think that a lawyer would make it right but Andrew won't even return phone calls. I know that a lot of people have been screwed a lot worse than me and I am sorry for those people. Are there any lawyers in Ohio that want one more case?

I know that my complaint is petty but I just wanted to warn people who were planning on buying. Make sure that they have all titles in hand.

the response i got from MAXIMA5 on this thread
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...light=National
"No One has wired money and not had a clear title sent to their doorstep within a matter of days.
Trailers, on the other hand, are a little tricky tracking down the paperwork."
good luck!

Trailers?
- A Certificate of Tide is not required on any Utility Trailer weighing less than 4,000 pounds or a boat trailer. To obtain license plates you must get a weight card from a license bureau and have the trailer weighed.
- Utility Trailers and Commercial Trailers or Semi-Trailers weighing in excess of 4,000 pounds must have a Certificate of Title. To sell, transfer or mortgage such trailers the Certificate of Title must be presented.
================================================== ========
So get a notorized bill of sale since I doubt he has the registration.
A new trailer comes with a Certificate of Origin.
All we do is show bill of sale and get it weighed to get a registration and plates.
No title is issued.
