Question motor rebuild

This summer my engine was submerged as a result of a flood. I changed the oil (several times) filled the cylinders with marvels mystery oil, manually cranked prior to igniting, then started engine. Fired up OK. The only problem was there was no oil pressure showing. After checking sending unit , gauges as well as attaching a mechanical, guage still nothing. It was then decided to pull the engine.

After dropping the oil pan I discovered the oil pump pickup had separated on the shaft. Now I am going to disassemble, rebuild engine (even though has only 25 hours on motor)

My question is how far should I go? This motor is a 509 ci w/AFR heads and a EFI Whipple Charger.

I am getting opinions which are at minimum confusing my insurance adjuster.

Any ideas?

Use Tyler Crockett @ Tyler Crockett Marine Engines. His phone # is 810-324-2720. He will do an excellent rebuild job including a dyno test. His prices are also resonable.

You might try Ohio Performance in Fairfield, OH. Between Cincy and Hamilton OH.

I wish I could tell my insurance adjusters what to do.

If the engine was submerged, it should get a complete rebuild. You should have taken it to a shop you trust right away and let them handle it witrh the ins co.

What about the rest of the boat??? Was it submerged also???
