That Ed Cozzi guy - he is alright!

Anyone ever needs a survey done in South Florida - Ed Cozzi should be your guy.

Survey was thorough, done on a very timely basis and was emailed to me within days. :D :D

Ed - Thanks for your help on the 38 Cigarette.

That Scott Sumrall still refuses to pay for the survey. After so many BS promises and after so many people have seen his name dragged through the dirt, you'd think he'd be a man and make things right. When I call his cell phone he lets it go to voice-mail as he has run out of excuses. He never returns calls.

As far as that video: It's still one of my favorites, but my wife won't watch it with me!

I told my wife about this thread.
She said: "Don't those threads turn into 'Roasts' after awhile?" I told her it already did!

Anyway, I appreciate the thoughts. Thanks Dave.

I don't know if I should add my $.02, but here goes. For insurance reasons we had our old 38 TG surveyed back in summer. It cost us $850. So to me $456 or thereabouts is a good deal for a complete survey. So I don't get it, this guy gets a complete survey that he authorized, and gets a discount price, then doesn't want to pay?

Reminds me of this guy on a Corvette site, Brandt Wiswell. I sent him $100 for a used core support. He cashed the check then never sent the core support. Come to find out later there are lots of threads on him on Corvette and motorcycle web sites where he scammed other people.

Hey if you going to get screwed, you should at least get kissed first! :-)

Yes! And the front door must have been locked, 'cause everybody was entering from the back door. Right Tres?

The hull survey was all I got done before he decided he didn't want the boat. If I had done a sea trial and compression tests, well then the bill would have been considerably more.

Re: That Ed Cozzi guy - he is alright!

Ed - Ours was just an on-land survey. No sea trial, no compressionn test. So I still think your price is very fair.

I'm sorry about you overpaying for that survey. Unfortunately some surveyors have an inflated view of what their services should cost. I charge $13.00 per foot for a 38' Top Gun that is local to me. If it's an EFI engined boat, that includes a scan of the ECMs to confirm hours and to check for trouble or fault codes. I also check vital areas with a moisture meter for obvious reasons. On a buyers survey if I find something major right away I call the buyer immediately and see if he wants me to continue. I seldom charge for that service, as I find that the goodwill is better than any advertising.

You can see me in action in the thread pictures of "Someone's Getting a Cigarette for Christmas".

Re: That Ed Cozzi guy - he is alright!

Ed - I'm out of the 38 now, if you happen across a good deal on a 27' or 28' Cigarette, please let me know. I've owned both in the past and I'm looking for something that's a little easier for me to trailer between Maryland and Florida. I don't mind if the boat is a little scruffy, I will probably re-do it anyway. My home phone is 410-256-2332, work is 410-234-5037.

Have a great holiday!

He's no Scott Sumrall, that's for sure.
