DCB 29' at LOTO Shootout - 105mph
I was reading an article this morning in the Nov/Dec Powerboat Mag (pg. 88) about the LOTO Shootout and speeds boats were doing this year. I came across a picture of a DCB 29' cat and the speed posted next to it was 105mph. My friend who has a 137mph DCB 34' with 800 Teagues says the manufacturer told him the 29' goes hits 150mph with 800 Teagues. Could the 105mph be a misprint or is the manufacturer just trying to sell fantasy boats again?

Yep, that was me.
I only went 105 on that one and only run at the shootout. I wasn't even planning on running this year, but it just looked like too much fun. I had been having some carb issues, so the port motor was fouled pretty bad on the start, cleaned out about halfway through the run.
I trimmed down too late in the run, and didn't have enought time gain back the speed. Inexperienced driving on my part.
The day before the shootout, the boat ran 118mph on the way to Big Dick's, as verified by others here on the board. And this with only 625 horse single carb motors. Not bad.
Powerboat and Hotboat both featured and tested this boat. It ran 123 in Powerboat and 125 in Hotboat, but with different props.
There was another DCB F-29 there with 800 naturally aspirated (and N2O) injected, as he told me), that ran 141 and change without nitrous.
I have seen a bunch of "Fantasy" speeds advertised, but DCB can back up what they promised.
As far as boat OWNERS backing up their speeds, well, that's a different story.

Does anyone know where to get the results to the 2004 Shootout? I am thinking of adding more power to my boat and need to see what the new class "top" speed would be.

I haven't seen results anywhere. There is an "official" website that officially sucks.
If anyone has results by class, let me know.
