Default West coast/Havasu regulars

I have several freinds that want to plan a trip to Havasu.
They have never been, I have been going there for the last 7 years.
However, I have never been on a major holiday weekend.
They want July 4th
Her Birthday is the 12th. She has friends from Scotsdale that will be coming up to boat with us too She is HOT
I would rather go out the week after the 4th. I have plans locally to go boating and would like to keep it.

My question is this, is it really worth boating there on the 4th? Crowded bars and fights are not my forte.
My thought plans go as follows, let me know if would be good?
For the 4th, Leave MN on Wed night June 29th
Drive out till Thursday afternoon, stop and sleep that night. Finish the trip Friday morning
Stay Fri, Sat, Sun Mon the 4th, tues and Wed. Leave thursday morning for back home.

Or preferably, the same, just a week later, this way we can spend a weekend out there, and still be htere for her birthday.
One night during either week we will be going to Laughlin.

Which would you prefer, July 4th trip, or the week after with less crowds and mayham.

Also, what are the other Hotels to stay at?
Would prefer to keep the boat in the water. it has been two years since last there and at that time I was able to rent a slip at the marina. But are they still having problems with performance boaters?
Last time I got gas there was no trouble, but have heard stories in the last two years
Thinking about the London Bridge resort, do they have slips available? or is it first come?
What is the Hotel along the same side of Shugrues? A little way up the channel. I seen boats beached there, but not sure if that is all that secure for night time

CA, last I heard 34' was the longest allowed in the channel, however that was 2 years ago.
I have a call into LBR about the slips

i usually just rent a house when i go out there, but i know the london bridge hotel has boat slips... kokomos, bar/club, is also there... the nautical inn has a beach where you can keep your boats, but it's first come first serve... the islander is nice because it has slips and it's own launch ramp which is really nice on big weekends, but if you get roudy they'll kick you out because some people live there...

i'd prefer going out there the week after... too many idiots on big holidays.

not bad
2200 miles each way
I have driven it many many times
Best eta's with boat in a car was 23.5 hours
best towing a boat was my old 19' jet boat. 29 hours
Current boat has been towed there 7 times. 3 were in the same year
best time with current boat I left Lacrosse Wi on Wed at 7:30 PM and arrived at Advantage's front door at 7:30 am on Friday
Drove alone, only the clothes on my back. Last minute decision due ot warranty issues that they would not pay somene else to do They ticked me off and said they could have it done in 5days if they had the boat. The place I chose to do the wok wanted to bill for 2 weeks of work So I dropped the boat off two days later in Havasu.
They about crapped when they saw me sitting there alseep in the truck.
Still took them over 2 weeks to get it done

If you can get in touch with havasucig, I think that he has a house in Havasu that he rents out sometimes. Also, you might want to post something over at hotboat.com since there are a lot of havasu regulars over there. LBR should let you reserve a slip with a room if you are staying there, but if you are not staying there is can be tought to get one of their slips. If you do not need a slip, you can also check out the Queens Bay condos. They are usually pretty reasonable pricewise and are right next to LBR.

Be sure that your boat has some type of mufflers. They have been testing boats at the launch ramp and will not let you launch if you don't pass their noise test..
