2003 Excursion 6.0 -which ones do you stay away from?

Looking at a 2003 Excursion with the 6.0. I know there were trouble with the injectors this year and I think I remember that it could be narrowed down to the actual build date -but how do you tell what the build date is for a car? It is in the VIN? If anyone can tell me what the dates were to stay away from, I would appreciate it. If it is in the VIN, here it is:

My opinion....Stay away from Any 6.0 built before Sept 30 2003. I also heard that the 03 Excursions had more problems than the pick ups. Be careful. The build date is on the sticker on the driver side door panel

just go for an 04 if you can..... if not stay with the post oct 03 ones...
