Engine protectant

I was told to spray CRC on my engine and all other components in the engine compartment. Or WD40 would do. I didn't like using the WD40 and I see CRC makes many different marine products.

Do you spray anthing to inhibit corrosion, and if so, what do you use?

I was told that before also to just spray down the motor
prevents moisture and corrosion

i use it on everything... cars, boats...

i do not use silicone...it tends to leave a residue.

I'm a WD40 guy. Why don't you like WD40? Tomorrow I'm going to celebrate 50 years of WD40 :evilb: :drink: :D

WD 40 is definatly good to use. But for the long cold winter try T9 Bowshield. It is not cheap at 7 or 8 bucks a can but it will stay on the engine all winter. It does leave a film but is easy to wipe off and the engine stays brand new. This product was designed for the aircraft industry.

Someone mentioned to me that its not good to use a petroleum based product.
Right or wrong?

And are there things you should not hit w/ any of this stuff?

I use Boeshield T-9 from Boeing Aircraft Company. Best stuff Ive ever used. Can get it at most boating maintenance suppliers. Also, it comes in a Yamaha can, same stuff, but a couple of bucs cheeper.
