I have an 05 REV. This past week I hit a log frozen to the beach towing kids on an innertub boat sled Then I hit the top of a pole on the side of the road. No damage from either and the log threw me off. The tub then ran me over. I was going about 25 also. So far 730 miles for the year I thought the most they can charge is the deposit. Most are $400 or so. I say it was not put together right. They have to put in the suspension out of the box and I found 3 loose bolts on mine. I never go out after someone touches my sled until I put a wrench on everything they touch. Once warrenty is up it is goodbye to the 17 year old idiots.

Mitch, that is what this is...the 05 REV 550 model. They asked me if I was thrown off the sled when I hit it. I wasnt thrown from it, nor was I even close to being thrown from it. I told them that I wish they had been there to see what happened, it seemed very benign at the time. I wonder if there is a way to know if thiw thing was set up correctly. They seem to be a pretty reputable shop but that does not mean it could not have been a installation error.

The deposit of $500 is just that...a deposit. They want more to fix it, alot of it being parts. I don't want this going to court, although my attorney says I have a great case considering they did not offer me insurance and there seems to be a untypical malfunction, but still, I like to do things the old fashioned way, straight up, man to man. I just dont want to get hosed down too much.

I will have a parts list tonight and will contact the sources mentioned above in the morning. Thanks again for the help here, anyone else have any input?

Sutphen...lol....I'm only about 200lbs....hope it can hold me

Yeah Foul....same thing I said..for this much I coulda just bought one!!

Yeah guys, they are charging me about $800 in parts...I cant beleive it either. They are making $ of this deal and wont come off thier prices a whole lot. I have told them I am certainly aware this sled is insured, it seems absurd the damage is this bad, etc...but I am trying to be civil with them. I have opted to be very patient and moral with this, as I always do, but they are going to have to work with me on some of this. If I can find parts at a good price I will just fix it myself and save on labor too...which is something like $3-400 or so.

I have other options as I stated, and legit ones too, but I hate when things get messy. Hopefully we can find a reasonable middle ground to work off of.

Thanks again for the help, I will go check out the Skidoo forums tomorrow when I get a few seconds.

05 sled = warrantee. This has to be covered by Ski Doo.... wouldn't you think??? Sounds like a defective part... 25 mph or 75 mph it should not have bent like it did.

Putzy, did you take any pics of the damage? Post em if you did.

hi ya boys... I recently worked on my boss's 04 rev 800 ho 136. He rides pretty hard. Well he bent his up on the right side, right behind the muffler, that whole right side ( mag side) is weak, it usaully buckles out. I reinforced the area with a plate of aluminum ( polished ofcourse LOL) and some aluminum angle. If you ride hard i would advise it, will save you some headaches later. Also if you land hard the front support between the shock towers buckles towards the pipe. Get some aluminum square stock and put it in the support between the towers with a nice snug fit, helps too

well last week i was in paradise riding. Good snow for christmas they said. Rode till the thursday rain and then loaded up. only about 380 miles.

It was tuning ride for me, was riding with my new hyperlite secondary clutch, very smooth and responsive. But cause of my clutch setup and gearing and jetting I only get about 6.5 MPG hey but it pulls like a freight train I put on extrovert drivers this year too, they are sweet, run my track nice and loose and no ratcheting, i would highly recommend them. Even made it to the casino to donate to the natives most of the week was one big blur with the amount of booze consumed.... I still don't think i am sober

was suppose to head to canada in a few days but my sled is tore apart. I'll will make it to canada sometime this year

Foul...I did take pics. I do not have my laptop with me though or I would post. Good point on the warranty. I will certainly take responsibility for something that is my fault, but the more I talk to people "in the know" the more it seems like something is goofy on this deal. Thanks for the idea though.....

Travis...thanks for the links...oh yeah, they put a 4-way stop in at Central and Fremont @ Hilldebrands....so you know

Any further input would be helpful
