Are those pictures in North Las Vegas ?

My in-laws live in N. Las Vegas.

We were out there over X mas

The weather was crappy there back when we left.

The Imperial Palace's parking ramp had been converted
to a swimming pool  :D

At least the penguins at the Flamingo's garden will feel at
home now :D :D

With all those non drivers out there.......it would be good
for the body shop business  :D

We're on the NW side in Summerlin. The IP always floods when it rains. About 8 years ago Ceasers garage had 3 stories of cars flooded out in their underground lot. They filled it in the next year.

We had a mix of snow and rain down by the airport. It's just rain now.

I have a friend of mine who lives off Cheyenne....that's the Summerlin area I believe. Your pictures look exactly like his neighborhood, but then again a lot of that area looks like that. He lives on Neptune Beach Rd.

He sent me pics yesterday afternoon of the snow. We're heading to Vegas on Jan 19 for 5 days. I'm attending a tradeshow for the first 2 days then the rest of the time is ours. If any of you Vegas people would like to meet up for a drink please let us know.

Hell you have more snow there in one day then we have ALL SEASON in the Twin Cites.
We are about to break a 60 year record for the lowest snow accumalation.

Just a hair over 2 inches is all we have had. :(

Thats a dusting for us up here in the UP of michigan we got about 5' over christmas had to snow blow my back deck off for the dogs when I got back from vacation. That is crazy though snow in Vegas kind of like when its a 100deg in the summer 2days a year during our summer up here.

Just returned from Vegas(Boulder City actually) & was rained out. The washes under the Imperial Palace, as previously mentioned, were real. This is one of the washes paths that was purposely built for water flow. Just a bit different than what we are used to in South Florida. Everything soaks into the ground here, unlike the desert. Ed

This may be a stupid question.. but how does the city prepare for such odd events? I mean in Ohio we expect this and stockpile salt and all that good junk. But can the City afford to buy plows and stockpile salt for those rare occasions?
