What do you call the direction of Formula's paint designs lately?

I really liked the color combo of Electrode, and the layout was just enough...not too much. The colors were gorgeous in the vinyl. I wanted the one Nelem's had (2002) with 500's/boxes BAAAAD.
So many of their paint layouts are just variations on a theme in recent years. Same shape, and lay over the boat the same as years prior, with a couple twists and turns in regard to color or overlay of an additional element.
Another favorite was the gold paint from '01/'02 that had the rear loaded solid color going forward in spears/scallops, and the long thin deck stripes (spears) that was really sharp in Lucaya or Daytona.
They do need to come up with something new and different soon.

It seems like over the years Formula's paint jobs have had themes to them, that makes it easy to date. If you go with a white hull and some type of moderate strip pattern, in a decent color combination you will probably never look out of date. Unless of course you have teak trim on the windshield
oh I forgot that was our old scarab, how I hated that look!

How about changing the proportions of the deck? Do you have to have the windshield 7 or 8 feet in front of you? It is very apparent in the F2 boats.
A poker run edition with a Long deck. Change the look with out messing with the expensive tooling (the bottom). Bring back the classic proportions that made the boats of the 70's and 80's so great looking. That and solid color on the hull sides.
All IMHO

I don't particularly like it , but then again my "Palm Beach" colors are somewhat dated and as old as I am , so am I. So we go together

I agree with Audiofn on the interiors. Too much going on. I actually rode on the boat on the top in post #1. The photos just don't do it justice ... it looks much better in real life. I would like to see Formula get a little more creative. Haven't heard the TAOD rumor, but they are just a spell down the road from each other.

[QUOTE=sutphen30]now all formula needs to do is add the 600scii to the engine list./QUOTE]
The boat on the top of the pic now has the new 600's in it! Story just out in this month's Powerboat Magazine. I look for this to become a popular optional engine choice this coming year.

I dont like the new graphics much at all. I had entertained the thought of trading my 01 in on a new boat but I haven't found any graphics I really like. The wifey loves the graphics on the boat we have so I guess we'll just stick with it
