I think that is a cumulative number - over the entire 9 years, most of which have not returned since they have been spanked for speaking their mind that doesn't align with the "webmasters". There are actually 10 active members now - but only 3 people behind the screen names. But feel free to post your thoughts... Whhhhhaaaaatever!

Mike,
If you are unhappy with the way I manage my forum you are free to find
another one. I make it clear in my policies and in the membership rules that
you agreed to that this is a moderated forum and I will do what is necessary
to control it as I see fit. Of course not everybody agrees with all my
decisions but I've been doing this for 9 years and I just try to do what is
best for this forum.
Out of over 1100 members only 8 are moderated and you are one of them.
Everyone else's posts appear immediately.
I felt it necessary to moderate your posts because of your disturbing
tendency to insult and put down people who have a different opinion than
you. I also don't appreciate your sarcastic, one-line, Chat Room like
comments. Please have something to contribute when you post. I will consider
removing the restrictions if you will stop attacking and respond in a more
respectful way. It is possible to disagree without being disagreeable.
Regarding the speed limit thread, my only mistake was allowing it to go so
long. That thread was completely skewed by bully tactics. Several forum
regulars contacted me to say that they had opinions too but were too
intimidated to participate. When FormulaOutlaw put us on notice that he
would be there to "straighten out" anyone who dared to disagree with him I
really had enough and he joined you on the moderation list. It is really
disturbing to think that any time controversial issues like noise, wakes,
speed limits, pollution, noise, etc. come up that he (or you) will pounce on
anyone who has concerns. I closed the thread because the issue was settled
by the hearing and it was clear to me that there were no more productive
comments being posted.
Although I understand the purpose of the OSO forum my forum is very
different. People of many views visit and I will do everything possible to
make sure that all opinions are heard and no one bullies, intimidates or
insults anyone else. Fortunately the vast majority of members show respect
and courtesy to everyone else and I don't have to worry about them.
I hope you will choose to stay and play within my rules and guidelines. I've
read every post you've ever made and I know you have much to contribute.
Your opinions are welcome as are those of people who may not agree with you.
All I'm trying to do is keep it fair and balanced (stolen from FNN).
Regards,
Don

First, what I said was "sometimes it takes people like me to keep people like you in check". I never said I was going to "straighten" anyone out. Apparently that was Don's interpretration of what I said, it's too bad he misunderstood it. It's a simple case of checks and balances, like Republicans and Democrats. I emailed him and tried to make that point.
I can't say I'm overly impressed by the "moderation" group he assigns certain people. I would think people are either allowed or not allowed in their Forum. If I, and I strongly emphasize I, post something that is against their rules then I expect to be held accountable. However, if anyone goes back and reads that Thread, there were a bunch of people on THEIR FORUM who were a whole hell of a lot more disrespectful to me than I EVER was to them. Yet I am the one who joins this "distinguished group"
In the for whatever it's worth file, I think Don did a decent job of letting the Thread run the course. Actually, I was really amazed he let it go as long as he did. I expected to get poofed when I told "Aubrey" that I stood by what I said in the OSO Forum. What got to me was that Aubrey, BearLover, AcreIdiot, were posting my OSO posts for no other reason than to divert attention to the points I was trying to make. I think that those three should be on the "moderation" list, but then again, I sure as hell don't want to be lumped in a group with those three people. Could you imagine if it was contagious???? I could wake up some morning and sell Outlaw and buy a blowbote. Man am I ever gonna have nightmares tonight. Calm down FO, take a pill, calm down FO, you'll be all right, breath evenly breath evenly. THUD.............................................. ............................
