how many hours, what pitch prop? My first stock bravo lasted 2 seasons behind 650 hp blower motor, added headers/2 psi more boost and then went up to 28 pitch prop from 26 and broke on the first ride driving EXACTLY the same i always had,Smitty

i think about 350 hours on boat and 340 of those hours with hawk 525s and 10 hours with rebuilt rebored and everything new 555c.u. dynoed at 643 hp 670 torque. the boat isnt propped right( outside props are 25 pitch hydros 4bl and inside prop is 26 pitch hydro 4bl) the drives prob arent gona last to long... considering we gotta shift at 1100-1300 rpms to keep engines runnin

We were making a right hand turn and the car behind us hit the side of the drive guard about 12" from the back of the trailer. The guy following that car told the police that she was going 50mph and never hit the brakes! She told the police that she did not see us turning, but in her defense she was 82 years old! Oh yea, she was driving a Chevy Cavalier (it was totaled).

I am just glad that the drive guard was there. It no doubt saved a lot of damage to the boat. The trailer took the brunt of the impact instead of the drives. Besides, if not for the drive guard that lady would probably have been killed. Instead of her bumper hitting the drive guard it would have been her windshield hitting the drives! Needless to say I was pissed off, but life goes on. We built a new trailer and hung a new drive and were off and running again.

Hey 375....... Sounds like you should be doin some carb tuning so those engines idle down. There's NO reason for an engine to have to idle that high unless something is'nt right in your carburation.

Is the engine cammed that hight to surge. Normally they don't need that much RPM till you get some big blowers and soem big cams and they need to idle that hight.. Good luck with the bravos are only rated to 600hp or they used to be??
