Does anyone recognize this Cigarette?

I ran across this picture and wondered if it was still around.

Re: Does anyone recognize this Cigarette?

There was a similar looking boat in Ft. Lauderdale years ago with 500 Hawks called "Offshore Outlaw" that came from Louisiana. I think it had TRS or #3 SSM.
Do you have a hull number? I can check my old files.

No, it popped up on a search of 38 Cigarettes. I'd never seen it before and wondered if it was still floating. Hi Ed. Did you see my post about you surveying my boat two years ago?

It's an 8' beam. This is what the 38 was prior to the TopGun in 1987.

Ed, mine was named Party Dall, survey #0022503748. If you're ever in west MI I'd have you refresh the survey.

I must have done yours for Castaline Marine. Correct?

Yes, you did. And I was very happy with the results as well as with the boat.
My boat looks similar to the one pictured above but no blower hatch and different interior. My hockeystick graphics are a bit different too.

I remember travelling North, like to West Palm or in that area. It was out of the water on a service rack.

Yes, in Martin County Marina on a rack.

I remember you and the boat. Glad it turned out to be a winner.
Amazing what a small, elite group the HP boat crowd is.

I can't wait to meet everyone at the Miami Boat show OSO party!

Hi Ed, Dave here.
I was the owner of the boat at the time you did the survey. I stopped by the day you were there. Remember, I gave you some cash to make the survey go well :p JUST KIDDING PEOPLE!!!! (Crazyhorse Dave's blood pressure just went up).
I did actually meet Ed & would recommend him to anyone :drink:

Re: Does anyone recognize this Cigarette?

DJD, I knew you did as Ed told me that you bribed him well. In retrospect, it worked out well as he recently got stiffed by about the same amount from some flake. What was the flake's name again? Just so we don't forget.

Makes you wonder does'nt it ? Why in the world people would sit or lay on the rear deck or sunpad while underway that fast. Makes no sense. :(

Re: Does anyone recognize this Cigarette?

The boat was purchased by a friend in the Baton Rouge, LA area. He has been working on it for years. It has many updates in and out, including a new notched transom. It should be in the water this summer with large c.i. and # 3 SSM. I think the hull is kevlar.

Thanks, Cignificant Other. Is there any chance you could get some pictures of the project? Is the owner a member on OSO? If not, he/she should be. We LOVE projects in process.
