Yeah 400hp would be nice. I think the opti will be in the 275-280 range. I'm a fan of the 300x as well. but you cant deny the efficiency of the opti's

That would be cool. I just know a lot of tournament Bass fisherman that had big problems with the "opti-pops" as they are now called on the bass tour. That makes me gun shy. But this was also a couple years ago when they wer fresh in the market.

The current Verado is not designed nor marketed for performance applications. Look for a performance Verado for the 2007 model year, until then the opti 250XS is a great choice. Over the horizon there may be a higher hp model to keep us satisfied!!

What is the tunnel tab used for? I have seen them on many Spectres but not on any of the AMT's.
I'm considering an OB cat and trying to learn as much as I can.

The Tunnel Tab Is To Be Used To Take Out The Porpoise That Occurs In All Cats. Typically Between 55-80mph.

I Had Herd That Twin 250 Xs Were Breaking The External Steering Mount On The Motor, Has Anyone Herd Of A New Design For 2005 250 Xs?

How is the ride in the back seat in rough water? I like to do Poker Runs and usually have a couple of ladies on board and want to make sure they feel safe and comfortable. :cool:

My 28 cc was one of the last Jay built 1996. My boat was built extra light which is why it is about 5mph faster than other models. I will send the pic's of the boat. My 28 was at the factory for a complete refurbish ( 5 mos) including new gel coat, rigging, everything on the boat was replaced. I have had several unsolicited offers but I have had the boat 8yrs and won't sell.

I have been poker running with my 30 spectre cats since 2000. I typically have a girl crew and they like the two outside seats in the back. The middle seat is not comfortable over 85 in seas. The nice thing about the outboard cats is that you can run 90mph @6,300-6400 all day with-out worrying. I run the bullet proof 2.5's designed to spin 8,200.

If your serious about a 30 cat I am out in mine 2 days a week and would give you a ride in sarasota, fl.

Ditto to what Dan said........They are for adrenaline junkies only.........This is not a boat for the weak and meek....The face lift is free for the women...If you have high maintence Yacht types they will not like the ride.......I LOVE MINE AND WOULDN'T PART WITH IT FOR ANYTHING.
