30' Cats w/ Twin OBs: Eliminator vs ....
How does Eliminator stack up against other 30' OB cats. I had been looking at AMT, Motion and Spectre, but ran into an Eliminator dealer. What do you guys think?

I'm not sure about the 30, but I know they make the 28 with outboards. That's not to say they don't though. I would call Eliminator and ask them about the 30. They make awesome boats, as I have a 28 and love it. FYI, the 28's have a huge cockpit, bigger than that of the 30 and 36.

I think I saw a 30 Eliminator with 300's on Lake Murray SC, I believe it was from the Atlanta area.
With all of the threads about 30 cats with outboards, I would love to see one of the magazines do a comparison. AMT The new Skater Spectre Motion Eliminator Did I miss one? |

I heard you need to trade so you should call Mike Flanigan at lightning bay marine his #727-235-2803. Mike can hook you up with a cool boat, trade and great financing.

I had a 30 Daytona with twin 620s and 30 Spectre with 300xs. The biggest difference is the Daytona center pod, this boat I felt was better on glass or smooth water ( no porpose ) The Spectre handled rough water better, had a little porpose on smooth water from 65-75 mph. The Daytona did have a cabin, the Spectre had less deck flex and have never once had somthing come loose, everthing is though bolted. I did buy a Tiger which my wife and kids love and only used the Spectre twice last year. Pm me if you would like more info. Here is a photo of mine I will be listing for sale.

Eliminator did a 30' solid Orange. I had 300X's on it. I heard it went to Canada.

Re: 30' Cats w/ Twin OBs: Eliminator vs ....
Sweet boat. I may be PMing you. Why does the Spectre have a raised deck if it has no cabin? I kind of like the looks of the AMT and Motion better for that reason.
Also, I was curious about the Eliminator because they were interested in doing a boat with Verados. Has anyone else done one yet??? |
Re: 30' Cats w/ Twin OBs: Eliminator vs ....
The Spectre is the fastest of all three. Most resonably priced
And has the best resale. If your serious...let's talk I have some great ideas for a new 30 which Jay can incorporate into the build. maximus |
Re: 30' Cats w/ Twin OBs: Eliminator vs ....
Verado's not ready for Hi Perf yet.

Re: 30' Cats w/ Twin OBs: Eliminator vs ....

"The Spectre is the fastest of all three. Most resonably priced"
I guess we can all think our Chevy, Ford or Dodge are the best. That is why there are so many builders of boats. If one is the best and cheapest no other builder could sell boats. I would go with a Motion, Skater, Spectre or AMT. The Eliminator will be too heavy for O/B's. |
Re: 30' Cats w/ Twin OBs: Eliminator vs ....
Your right Brad everyone has their favorite.
I would gladly put up the build quality, finish and performance against all the others. Anyday Anytime. You cant hide shoddy workmanship, rush finished boats, marginal rigging, cheap materiels. Not saying all on the list are like that but you and I know which ones are. look they are all nice . I just dont consider the Spectre a Ford Chevy or Dodge....Porsche is more like it! I persoanlly like the Spectre and AMT. I think I would buy the one that is a great deal.

Here's a 2004 30 hour used 28 Daytona... Looks very nice... This boat should easily do 100+ mph! |
