anyone here own tunnel inflatable ? like dux?
 

i am looking at not only getting one for myself but maybe trying to sell as they are non existant around here, .
getting mixed input looking for any info i can gather.

Had a dux with a 70 Tohatsu man was it scarry fast , so close to the water and no weight and tiller steering, you feel it all

Unfortunately it just never took off in the US. The racing circuit just died off & what interest there was also died with it. Racing the Inflatables on flat water is just not that exciting. Liability issues also played a part in not allowing the sport to grow.
I played & raced these boats when I lived in South Africa. A couple years back I found out that the boats were being imported into the US & bought a rig to race. I thought these boats would be raced in the surf/ocean. No racing in the surf..wtf. These boats are designed to run in the surf. If the public could see these boats race in the surf, the sport would grow. IMO Flat water racing equates to check book racing , racing in 6' surf on a closed course levels the playing field & the best guy's win. Skill & big balls win not $$$
Boats sales have been slow. Do we have to have to be tied in with APBA/SBI sanctioning to race or can a separate Inflatable race org. be formed? The organisers here also changed the class rules a little here in the US. Should have stuck with what SA, UK & the Aussies were using...60hp Merc?
Paul Kasfazc(spelling) imported several Gemini Zap cats a time back. He would be a good guy to talk with as he tried to get it off the ground here.
Have you ridden in one yet? Whatever happened to Extreme Marine folks? They were all gung ho a while back & even posted here on OSO

I know this is a old post but I agree 100% , we are currently getting things of the ground up here in Ontario Canada , we had 2 races in Ontario and 5 in the States, we hope to have some big water action next year but being this was our second season of trying to get things moving in the right direction we had our races on the flat water tied in with the hydro guys but we did run a proper SA course here in Canada with left and right hand turns, we are working on expanding so if anyone wants to come out with there boats and join the fun let me know.

Where are the races in the US?

You guys are on the wrong coast. You need to get those inflatable cats here on the West Coast. We have plenty of big water and surf to make those things fly.:)
