Hull Damage

Lets say a late model boat hits a channel marker and "partially" sinks. "Partially" could mean 1 foot of the nose sticking out of the water or just took water I don't know except it didn't hit the bottom.

How do you confirm that all repairs are done right? Who is qualified to do them? Is this now a salvage boat? Do you run and not walk away? What does the sell have to disclose to you?

It varies state to state ..but i dont belive a salvage title follows aboat like an auto as there is no inspection law ??

Sounds to me that there are a lot of other boats out there that have not hit channel markers. :D :D

You could ask Shane. His "never been damaged" skater lost a chunk of the bottom on lake Champlain where a patch fell out.

sure wish i had a chance to buy that fountain that hit the channel marker... it's been pre disastered and the odds of hitting another channel marker are greatly reduced! i just hope it doesn't break apart in big water... oops my bad, fountains don't do big water. :evilb:

Re: Hull Damage

The boat was bought ,fixed and run for 4-5 years . Owner got tired of the tall deck and sold it . The new owner was given a complete history and a tour of it inside and out (under the carpet too ) .. I beleive the boat is running mid to high 80's now . Everone is VERY happy with the boat .

It's like anything else , Boats CAN be fixed right , you just need to find someone that knows what the H*LL they are doing . Look at race boats . They fix them ALL the time ....
