Sounds just like what happened to one of our Powerplay 33' customers off Lauderdale. Was thrown from his boat & drowned somehow. Boat was found running in circles, just like this Donzi... Not the best way to check out.

I would have thought he got thrown from the boat except for the VHF transmission.
Very sad, I hope they can find something to give them closure.

Sad story. That's why you have to stay together. It was very careless of him to run way ahead of the other guys...especially since the one guy was in a 22' boat.

Re: 38 ft Donzi boat owner missing?
I wonder if he was dumping the melted ice-water out of the ice coolers with all that fish in them, and accidentally fell overboard? And maybe that's why they found one ice chest & seafood dumped all over the boat?
How long had he been waiting for the other boats to catch up? Long enough for the ice to start melting?
Two big coolers of tenderloin and shrimp — 200 to 250 pounds each, which the men maintain they put on the boat — do not show up on the photograph. And when the Coast Guard released the Donzi back to Gamblin after their investigation, those coolers were missing. Plus, half the contents of those coolers was scattered across the boat
