landing in FLL 11am 2/16
leaving FLL 2pm 2/21

There will be five of us (we're not teeny guys) for 5 days, and we'll have 2 more joining us for 2 days.

We're trying like crazy to locate ANYTHING with three seats.
A Suburban, an Olds Vista Cruiser station wagon with woodgrained sides, a minivan, etc.

All minivans are sold out. Found some insanely priced SUV's but they're frickin EXPLORERS with no more room than a car...
I've got excellent insurance, no tickets in three years, and I don't drive drunk. Does anybody have a spare minivan they'd want to rent out for that time period? I'd be glad to supply you with a 2004/2005 Ford Taurus from Enterprise, etc, for that duration in trade. We just really don't want to have to split our group up with two cars...

We came "this close" to driving a Powerstroke Excursion down, but one of our group is "too prima donna" to ride 1000 miles in one day.

Any ideas?

make him fly down and leave him at the airport for about 4 hours and then pick him up in the PSD excursion...... :D

Yeah, if we hadn't already caved and let him book all of us on US Air...

We're flying into FLL 11am 16th.
I have actually found a minivan but the rate is $422. Entertaining better deals.
If we had looked closer at the rental car situation before booking our flight, we'd probably have flown one of us into Orlando first, attended the auto auction, purchased a Suburban or similar, and then the remainder of us flown in and got picked up.

* pick up a good deal on a truck
* have plenty of room for the crew
* save money on a rental car
* retail it and make a few $$ when we get home.

Get one of those utility vans. That way when all your bros puke in the back you just hose it out for day two :D:D

Car dealer, yes. Among other things...

Cargo van is a big NO. Puking is to be done OUT OF WINDOWS. Cargo vans are extremely short on windows.

Good for serial killings.
Bad for pukings.

ha the models they have working on boat unfortunatly bolt immediatley after the show. And i know i'm sure as hell not giving you one! i don't need to sell you a boat taht bad!!!!!!!! :eek:

but i know goldberg (sy) IS gonan be there and yeah i bet he'd give you one if that's what it took to sell you a new policy......

Have the hotel pick you up from the airport. I usually check travelzoo.com for their top 20 travel deals. They have ALL of the deals of ALL of the travel websites, there. When renting a car ALWAYS specify SMOKING or NON-SMOKING. They will charge you for smoking in a Non-Smoking vehicle.

Why not get 2 cars instead of 1 minivan? Just looked on Travelocity and you can get an intermediate for less than $150, or an economy for less than $130 (but will you fit in an economy...).

We got a new style mustang for about $50 a day ... :D Only 2 of us though ...

Yeah, we're looking at the 2 car route. But we want to stick together as a group. You know, some group sightseeing and stuff.

We did just find out though that one of the group (the one coming from SC) is DRIVING down. This means he will have a CAR !!

So we may automatically be a 2 car group now.

and the plot thickens..

boot i will be down at the sunseeker display for a little whle. I won;t be hanging out for the whole show though, just stop in check out teh hardwar on display say hello to the posse and hang for a lil while.

no rides on eth sunseker, sorry they cram the boats on collins in like sardines. Helli can;t even get one for myself!

I think we're covered, though. We hooked into a good deal on a driver and a car (long car) for the trip. Our group kept growing and is up to 10 people. We will also have the boat captain's personal car for short trips.

But I REALLY appreciate the offer.
