I own it now. Bought it two years ago not rigged - restored the wood last year. It is in the shop now getting rigged. I bought an early 80's 40 hp evenrude (just converted it to a short shaft). Gonna have the motor painted to look like its fron the late 50s. The guys think it will do 50+. Can't wait for spring!

There was one for sale just like that at the Mount Dora show... Cool little boat, if my wife hadn't been there it would have followed me home :) :)

8' GW Invader w/25 hp Merc.

Had to lean forward to get up on plane, but once going it was a blast! Bottom was rounded and smooooooooth. No strakes, chines, nothing to get a grip of the water. Just slid when turning. :evilb:

My first boat was an 18' SeaRay SRX Pachanga. Bought it new back in May 1971.

It was stolen out of storage. All I have left is memories and photos.

When i was 12 i had an 8 1/2 foot inflatable Zodiak with 15hp Johnson but with a 9.9 lid cause that was the max HP rating on the capacity plate. ran close to 30mph.

11' wooden skiff. Was 12' when given to me but had no transom. Replaced the transom and cut the rest off. Clamped on a used 7.5hp Sears outboard. Caught a lot of fish in that .

When I was a teenager I built my first boat, it was an 8' wooden hydroplane with a 25hp Evinrude. I couldn't afford a steering wheel, so my brother and I ducked taped a hockeystick to the cowling. Worked great! :D

Two years later I moved up to a 13' Checkmate MX-13 with a 6 cyl inline Mercury 85hp. That one came with a steering wheel... :drink:
