I just got off the phone with Formula Outlaw. He is still bent! I wish I would have had my tape recorder on, because that's one of the best rants I've ever heard. I put him on speaker phone so Debbie could hear it too. The best part was about his wife fixing a clock. I was on the phone with him for 36 minutes and 36 seconds. Dennis Miller's rants have nothing on him! :D

Guess who's driving in the daylight tomorrow with no lights?????? The ramp is only a mile away so phuck it. Ahhhhh, you're making me blush, you say the nicest things about me. :D :D Just for the record, Deb said I sounded just like "Cuda Joe". :drink: :drink: So, I go to Boat US, West Marine, Boater's World, and two Wal-Marts, and nobody has got a damned adaptor. The guy at West Marine says "we don't stock that but can have it here by Thursday". Well the phuck of a lot of good that does me. I asked him, with all the sailboat crap you've got in here, you can't find a thee inch by six inch space to stock an adaptor?????? So tomorrow I'll go get bent over the barrel at the Dodge dealership. So what should cost me say ten bucks will probably be thirty at Dodge. Plus the twenty five bucks of gas I blew through this morning trying to locate an adaptor. At least Boater's World carries it, they were just out. Both Boat US and West Marine, it is strictly an "order item". So basically PHUCK IT. I'm going to the John Lennon art exhibit then come home and watch the Stupid Bowl. Oh yeah, there was a note on my trailer from the Sheriff's Deputy who followed me home last night warning me that one of their "youngin's" was on duty today and if he saw me with no lights, he'd make me park the trailer until the lights were working. All I need right now is to get pulled over by him and get into a hassle about the lights, when realistically it's my fault. I hate being responsible sometimes. So no boating today. I'm going to buy two adaptors so I'm never caught off guard again. Goes with my always having three "butt plugs" and two crescent wrenches in same door map panel. You wouldn't believe how many times guys have asked me to borrow the wrench because they had no way to install their butt plug. Just another day in paradise. :rolleyes: |

As you can see, I bought it at U haul. I remember now. When I bought the Donzi in Miami, I had just bought my F250. I knew I hadn't put the adapter in it, so I stopped and bought the adapter. When I backed to the trailer, I saw the F250 comes with both connections already, and I didn't need the adapter.
I can stick it in the mail tomorrow if you want it. |

I spent a lot of time and did a killer job on rewiring and adding all new LED lighting including four additional side lights on the trailer including running a seperate 12 guage ground wire to each LED unit. I don't really want to jury rig anything, knowing my luck I'll just end up causing myself more problems. I'll pick one up at the Dodge dealer tomorrow and order a back up from West Marine. Thanks for the idea though.

FormulaOutlaw, Discount Auto Parts has tons of the adaptors, I have always found them in there. Pretty reasonable too.
Theft sucks, I had two Sea Doo's stolen off my dock in Palm City a few years ago fourth of July night, docked the boat, went home (we were renovating the house on the water) and got a call from the mason the next morning that my lift was at the bottom of the river, he thought I was out on the skis at 7AM! One was on the beach next door to the house, it had run out of gas, and the other was recovered in a Port St. Lucie backyard like six months or a year later, thrashed and not running. The idiot who stole it gouged the FL numbers out of the gelcoat, rather than taking a razor blade and some alcohol . . . phucking morons! It is quite easy to get on a "rant" where thieves are concerned. It never ceases to amaze me how the differences in "upbringing" are now coming back to haunt us so badly. We have an entire (not trying to "dis" everyone here but....) generation that so many of them have no respect whatsoever for other people, other people's property, and who think of nothing but themselves. I can only think that when it comes to the "modern" concept of raising children, "well that worked out real friggin good didn't it"?????????? :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Put a zip tie around the plug and the plug cover. Even if you use the reusable type zip ties. at least when thief sees it they may think it is there to stay or not be able to just unplug it without cutting the zip tie. It seems to me it would be worth a try for the price of a zip tie. Just a thought.

Outlaw......I have several trailers and got tired of keeping track of all the adapters. I cut the 4-way flat off and hard wired a 7-way round plug on the trailer wires. They could cut the plug off, but most A-holes that are going to steal something wouldn't know how to re-wire the plug. Just makes mine less likely to be stolen.

Russ C. That's another thought too. Would really like to have a "trip" wire attached to either a 12 guage, or if that's a little extreme, maybe a paint ball gun. Guy grabs the adaptor, smack, right in the kisser with a paint ball. That's be worth the price of an adaptor just to watch. :D :D |

Jon, damned if I know. Like I said, that's not the only one I've had ripped off. I've even had my license tag mounting bolts stolen. Mounting bolts...... One of these days if I never have anything to do (like that's gonna happen in this lifetime), I'd go back and park under that big tree with EVERYTHING still attached. I'd climb the tree and just wait. Seems like we've gotten to the point people will steal the shoes off your feet.:rolleyes: |

I use this
Connector I know they make this with splice type wire ends you can can hardwire it to the trailer. I installed a round receptacle on the trailer and of course the other side connects right into the large round 7pin on the truck. When I'm done it goes in the lock box on my trailer. :cool: This set up works well and gets rid of the flat connectors and small gage hookup wires. |

Thieves suck.
I made a proprietary "blend" using one style on my trailer, and one style on my truck. In the glove box I have an adapter that will let me connect to everybody else's connector. Mine won't work for anybody but me. They will still probably steal it. |

Was thinkin Russ, dependin on how much of a jackass youo want to be, why not glue or silicone it in, so that way it wont come out so easy, and then all you have to do is unplug the trailer lights...might be fun to watch them tug on it least till you get there.:D

Well ....all your ranting does nothing .....you know if we had balls we would pass laws that if you steal something .....Like they sand fleas do. ...cut off a hand ...but then we'd have to rehabilitate em ....So ...conviction of a Felony ..the needle ..there would be no 12-18 month sentences ...It would take a while but sure would rid of us that particular Gene pool .....And I know if I was a thief ....I would think twice ..no three times before I take something that is not mine ... :drink:
