That is in fresh water add 2 for salt. The bottom is very well designed, crisp edged and fast. They have been built with HP 500's and 525's and run low 90's. Very stable and planted at high speed BTW.

I also have a customer with an ULTRA 247 XS / 454 MAG 390 HP / Bravo 1 / SS 4-24P. He runs 77- 79 all the time.
ok now add 950 lbs and give us a speed, then you could compare it to the F1's

the math just don't add up for 82 does it?

you would have to spin a 28 at 5k with 8% to get 82

LIOPA

Maybe you should be comparing the 28 Nordic with a 496. The 25 is not the boat for F1 class for many reasons. (IE- weight and length)
What does the 28 run with the 496 and how much does it weigh?

Paul, my drive is a B1. Not sure if that makes a difference. Maybe with some weight loss off this fat arse might help

Actually....when I dropped the first post I did not realize this was a F-1 boat comparison thing. I do not consider the NORDICS F-1 boats....my mistake.

As far as the 28....4400 lbs w/full cabin.....sink etc. She will run 70-71 with a 496 HO / Bravo X

Again I misunderstood the original thread title........sorry folks

My single stepped 05 288 Sunsation w/ H.O. Ran a very best of 73.4 GPS. that was low on fuel, 2 people, spinning a 28 B1 @ 5,000 in 45 degree weather.. Average speed with full tank 2-3 people is around 68-69. I doubt a non stepped 28 nordic will do 70.. I think Indy's 28 with 502 did around 65.

Thumbs up Re: O.K. - Fastest Single Engine w/ Stock 496HO/XR

Put our Raylar BCK103 kit on any of these boats and you will see 100+ HP and that will translate to about 10-12 mph with a good prop and a ready driver. Thought I would chime into this bench racing thread.
The 496HO-R is the new motor!
Thanks,
Ray @ Raylar

Wardy,
I've asked for pics before. I'll ask again. I would love to see more of your boats.

LIOPA,
My converstions in Hvasu aur in the high 60's on the 28 Nordic.

Ray,
I saw your motor at the L.A. show. Looks nice. I'm glad someone has the b*lls to make the 496 a real bolt on package. Good job.

Would LOVE to,, but 7 G's just isn't in the budget right now..

My boat with H.O. does 70, with a 525 does 76-77, w/ Raylar package I would expect around 79-80.
