Imco single-ram/single engine on last boat. Worked great, but did once rupture an outside transom line. Easy fix.
Marine Machine dual-ram/twin engine on current boat, and quite happy with it. I do wish I a steering system that always returned to a "center" position though. (Not automatic-return like a car, but so the wheel always turns back to the same spot when centered.) |

i've been thinking of getting a quick release steering wheel then every time i go out i can quickly readjust it straight.its on my long list of things to do. :D Guys have been griping about that since hydraulic steering was invented and as far as I know there are no "cures" for this without compromising the reliability of the system. |
Re: Best deal in steering
ON the IMCO full hydraulic system you simply take the wheel to the stops (whil;e counting the turns) and hold it. The pressure relief valve opens; you count the turns back to center: and voila! wheel is centered.
The wheels cget out of alignment due to the pounding they take and the relief valve is constanly opening a tad bit eventually causing the alignment to get out of whack... |
Re: Best deal in steering
I don't buy any IMCO products, heard alot of bad stuff about them like not backing their warranties :evilb:
